Sometimes it’s tough being inside our own head 💜

Post-traumatic stress disorder can disrupt your whole life — your education, job, how well you get along with others, physical health and enjoyment of everyday activities. Having PTSD also may raise your risk of other mental health problems, such as: Depression and anxiety disorders. Issues with drugs or alcohol use.
When a person with PTSD is triggered, they experience a surge of symptoms related to the trauma. This can involve flashbacks, nightmares, intense anxiety, and difficulty concentrating. Physical reactions like increased heart rate, sweating, and difficulty breathing are also common.

Depression is more than simply feeling unhappy or fed up for a few days.

Most people go through periods of feeling down, but when you're depressed you feel persistently sad for weeks or months, rather than just a few days.

Some people think depression is trivial and not a genuine health condition. They're wrong – it is a real illness with real symptoms. Depression is not a sign of weakness or something you can "snap out of" by "pulling yourself together".

The good news is that with the right treatment and support, most people with depression can make a full recovery.

Overthinking is a habitual pattern of repeatedly dwelling on thoughts, often negative ones, without the intent of problem-solving. It can involve replaying past events, imagining worst-case scenarios, or second-guessing decisions. While self-reflection is a purposeful process of gaining new perspectives, overthinking is characterized by obsessive and unhelpful rumination.
