The BRC recently hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Centre, raising money for vital cancer support for the charity.

Our Bowersdale Resource Centre (BRC) Service Users took part in a great Mindfulness Arts and Craft's session inspiring their creativity on World Mental Health Day.

Service users and Staff from our Bowersdale Resource Centre (BRC) have recently visited Blackpool on a residential trip, enjoying the sights and sounds of the seaside.

Although the weather was not the best due to Storm Amy, spirits were not too dampened.

The group enjoyed a visit to the arcades, Ripley’s ‘Believe It Not’ and enjoyed dinner and dancing at the hotel.

Service user comment’s on the trip:

“Really enjoyed the trip away, pity about the weather, but the entertainment was brilliant and the food was fabulous, a five course meal. Be lovely to go back when better weather.”

“I enjoyed Ripley’s and would like to go again, I was out of my comfort zone as I am not used to big groups but I enjoyed it.

The food was nice in Hotel and I even got up and danced. I would like to go away with the centre again.”

“I enjoyed being away from family and being with friends it was a break staying in Hotel, We got wet but I was happy and I slept well, went to Ripleys had a nice time.”

“On Friday I enjoyed our trip to Blackpool, the fish and chips were amazing as was the whole of the hotel experience and entertainment. Mr Ripley’s was a fantastic experience and I even won some teddies in the arcades

World Mental Health Day:

World Mental Health Day takes place today, 10 October. It’s a reminder of the importance of good mental health and the need to prioritise and invest in good mental health.

This year's theme is 'access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies'. The theme highlights the importance of people being able to protect their mental health in times of global instability.

Gary's Travels:

Our Gary loves to travel and explore the world. Recently Gary visited Spain and right now, Gary is in Egypt, seeing the pyramids and riding on a camel!

Gary wanted to say thank you to his support staff team and especially to Karla for helping his confidence and independence develop to the point where he is able to have these exciting journeys.

Gary says;
"Today I continue to travel on my journeys exploring the world. I've been to Spain for 10 days recently and am off to Egypt next.

I would like to personally thank you (Karla) for everything you have done for me to support me to not just gain my confidence but to continue following my goals. I am feeling really good about myself.

I have more good days now than I've ever really had. I look forward to keeping in touch with you and the rest of the staff team when I'm on holiday and I will send you lots of pics."

🌟 We’re incredibly proud of Sally! 🌟

Service user Sally has shown immense courage and compassion by 'braving the shave' head shave, in memory of her late friend. Through this powerful tribute, she raised an amazing £298.32 for St Joseph’s Hospice, helping support others in need.

Her strength and generosity are truly inspiring — a massive well done, Sally!

Joe loves to get out and about and has recently visited Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland on holiday. He had a wonderful time enjoying the sights and the food!

Michael and Support Worker Christian recently attended the Great British Motor show in Southport. Michael is very passionate about cars and trains. He really enjoyed the show and lunch afterwards! The cars look great. Glad you had a great time Michael.

The BRC team where recently presented with a plaque award from The National Garden Scheme in recognition of their fantastic efforts made to their garden over the last couple of years.

It’s that ghostly time of year again, when the Bowersdale Resource Centre (BRC) hold their annual Halloween party!

FRIDAY 31st OCTOBER, 12pm-3pm
Buffet and beverages, chilling fancy dress competition, best dressed and best dancer competitions.

Please be aware you must book places and pay before the 24th October to avoid dissapointment, as this is always one of our most popular events!

There are limited places, first come first served.

Service user & Staff tickets are £4.00 each.

We hope to see you all there. Its going to be spook-tacular!
