Expect Limited

Expect Limited Expect is a registered charity providing health and social care services based in Sefton, Merseyside that has been operating for 35 years.

We offer individual focussed support to help you live your best possible life. Expect Ltd is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a domiciliary and residential service, providing a range of services for people living with mental illness and/ or learning disabilities. We uphold a strong community approach and focus the efforts of highly trained, motivated staff on supporting some of the most isolated individuals in the community. Expect is a charity that emphasises the benefits of inclusion and social integration, operating an alternative approach to institutionalised care and support. Expect manages the operation of housing projects such as supported living provision, registered care homes and community outreach services in order to provide appropriate levels of support, in an appropriate lifestyle context to best support each individual we work with. In addition to this Expect operates a comprehensive day service support/ community facility called ‘The Bowersdale Centre’ in Seaforth. The charity works alongside other voluntary, community and charitable organisations from this hub facility to develop service provision for the maximum amount of people who we can help. Expect aims to promote the value of ordinary living opportunities and eliminate the segregation and stigmatisation of people who consider themselves to be disadvantaged by reason of their physical health, mental health or learning disability. To this end we provide services that aim to preserve and protect the well-being of the disadvantaged in our society on a not-for-profit, charitable basis.

Great for us at Expect Ltd to be featured in the latest edition of My Planet Liverpool Magazine, with an article from our Staff Awards event from this past June. The event was a great way to celebrate our staff team from across our services. We have had brilliant feedback from staff, sponsors and supporters.

Articles like this really help promote Expect Ltd and our mission to deliver person centred support to people with a disability, promoting and enabling their independent choice and integration into the local community. Our Staff Awards event celebrated the people who make this happen for our service users, every single day.

🌞 Hawaiian BBQ Bash at the BRC – A Day to Remember!
Our Hawaiian BBQ was a massive success, filled with Fun in the Sun and unforgettable moments! With 55 staff and service users joining the celebration, the atmosphere was electric. Everyone looked incredible in their vibrant Hawaiian outfits, bringing the island vibes to life.
🍔 The burgers and hot dogs were a hit—super tasty and grilled to perfection. 🍹 The bar was fully stocked, offering a wide range of drinks for everyone to enjoy, and the ice pops were a refreshing treat that helped keep us cool throughout the day.
As always, events at the BRC are more than just parties—they’re a chance for service users and staff from across Expect to come together, connect, and build friendships beyond their usual groups. Service users living their best lives and making memories.
🎁 A huge thank you to Thomas for donating the biggest teddy ever! It was raffled off and won by the lovely Michelle—congrats!

Today is cycle to work day. It is the UK’s biggest celebration of everyday cycling and promotes health and sustainability and eco - conscious travel. Whether you are a experienced cyclist or a beginner, today is an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of riding to work, as you help reduce carbon emissions, relieve public transport congestion, improve your own mental and physical wellbeing by exercising on your way to work. This occurs because when you cycle, your heart rate increases, and more oxygen is pumped to your brain. This triggers the release of endorphins, which have mood-enhancing and pain-relieving effects. to learn more about the initiative click the link below.

Today is national schizophrenia awareness day in the United Kingdom. It is a mental illness with an large stigma attached to those with the condition and many misconceptions exist in media lead to harmful and negative attitudes towards it. Today is a opportunity to learn more about schizophrenia and help to dispel some myths about the illness. One of the biggest misconceptions regarding the illness is that schizophrenia makes people violent and dangerous people. This is verifiably untrue. People who suffer from schizophrenia are in fact much more likely to be victims of acts of violence than perpetrators. Another common misconception is that it is untreatable. while schizophrenia is not curable, therapy, support services and antipsychotic medications have all been proven to help people treat the illness and live fulfilling lives.
