Listening Ear’s support doesn’t stop at counselling.

Once your group or one-to-one sessions have finished, adult clients can benefit from our Friendship After Bereavement (FAB) and children and young people can join our Emotional Youth Club (EYC).

We also offer aftercare groups for Amparo, VIDA and DiAmond.

Our aftercare groups offer a safe and confidential place for ongoing support after you have completed counselling. Led by an experienced group facilitator, our groups provide a safe space to share experiences, feelings, and mutual support through your journey following counselling.

We’re proud to support World Mental Health Day 2025.

This year’s theme is: ‘Access to Services – mental health in catastrophes and emergencies’.

At Listening Ear Merseyside, we support thousands of children, young people and adults facing wide-ranging emotional distress and trauma, this includes providing community response plans following an incident.

We provide support within 24 hours for those bereaved by a su***de, alongside support for those experiencing, bereavement, loss, and difficult life experiences including domestic abuse.

Our work is only possible thanks to the generosity of those who believe in the power of compassionate support through access to mental health services. Often at the worst time in their lives, people find hope and solace in the services we provide.

In times of crisis - whether personal or global - access to mental health support is vital.

“When someone reaches out in their darkest moment, knowing that help is there can make all the difference. At Listening Ear, we’re here to listen, care, and walk alongside people as they begin to heal. Guided by compassion, a nurturing approach, and integrity in how we respond to each person’s needs, our mission is to help people of all ages affected by difficult life experiences — empowering them not just to survive, but to truly thrive.

If you’re struggling, please know you don’t have to face it alone. Reaching out for support is a brave and important first step, and we are here to listen, understand, and support you every step of the way. None of this would be possible without the generosity of those who believe in the power of compassionate support.”

Michelle Lyons, CEO, Listening Ear.

This World Mental Health Day, help us continue to offer life-changing support to those who need it most.

On Monday 22nd September, our team from Kent and Medway attended the Baton of Hope event in Medway. The baton began its journey at Mid Kent College in Gillingham, making stops at Maidstone United Football Club, County Hall, and Canterbury Christ Church University.

Our colleagues, Carrie and Karen were in Medway, while Karen and Helen were in Maidstone, each with an Amparo stall to offer support to attendees. Hannah performed a reflective poem for attendees before the event concluded at Dreamland in Margate with the 'Evening of Hope' - a powerful event bringing together performers from across the region, sharing uplifting songs, dance routines, and heartfelt stories of connection, community, resilience, and hope.
