The Community Centre is located next to the Church in Church Road, Roberttown. It was originally a school and was purchased for use by the people of Roberttown in the early 1970’s. It has been run by a committee of local residents ever since and is entirely self-funding, relying on income from the groups who hire it on a regular basis, and from individuals who hire it for private functions. It doe

s not receive any funding for the day to day running costs from Kirklees Council. Regular users include Roberttown Community Centre Pre-school; Art Group; Roberttown & District Womens Institute (WI); Dru Yoga and Pilates; JuJitsu and Karate; Archery; Slimming World; Running Club and Cycling Club. Full details of all groups are posted on the notice board near the car park entrance, and on our website. We are always happy to welcome new members to our committee and invite anyone who is interested to our next meeting, which is in the centre lounge at 7.30pm on the dates shown on the main page.

This playful and imaginative adaptation of Aesop’s classic fable is brought to life in a vibrant performance. Creative Scene and Tutti Frutti Productions bring you this much-loved story about opposites and friendship, brimming with fun, charming characters, live music, unforgettable songs, and wonderful physicality.

Two unlikely friends — the speedy, confident Hare and the calm, steady Tortoise — meet for the greatest race on Earth. A race filled with suspense, surprises, and a nail-biting, medal-winning finish.

Hare is ready to race, but Tortoise has many things to do before it’s the right time. And time moves so slowly! From sun-shining spring to snow-falling winter, the duo go through all four seasons. Does Hare have the patience? When will they actually start the race? Ready... Steady... Is it time to GO?

There's always something happening at Roberttown Community Centre: Yoga, Pilates, Karate, Archery, Art Group, Running Club, Slimming World, WI, Baby Ballet and Moo Music. Just had to share this photo of the lovely tribute from the Roberttown Craft and Chatter group as part of their exhibition for Woven in Kirklees, which is taking place all over the area this month. There are lots of different bollard covers to see, along with a flock of sheep and the post box topper as the crowning glory.
