CRITICAL MESSAGE FOR PATIENTS
Once again we have to post regarding the amount of booked appointments for GPs and Nurses that are not being attended. At present the situation at the surgery is critical with routine appointments being 4 weeks away. This is not going to improve with the continual building going on in the area. We are all doing our best to meet patients’ requirements but, our reception staff in particular, are being subjected to a high level of abusive phone calls. While we realise how frustrating the situation is for everyone, this will not be tolerated and potentially could result in removal from our practice list.
Patients should be receiving text messages the day before to remind them of their appointment times. If you are not, and would like this to happen, please contact the surgery. Text messaging also gives you the option to cancel via text should you be unable to attend. You can also cancel via our website- this saves waiting in the phone queue..
We would also make patients aware that our local pharmacies are able to provide care for many minor ailments such as coughs, colds, sore throats and rashes. Many of the treatments offered are free under the Pharmacy First scheme.
To reiterate –if you cannot attend please let us know, no matter how close it is to your appointment time, so we can offer your appointment to someone else.
Please share this information with those not following our page or not on social media.
