Why book a sound healing session?

Sound healing stretches all the way back to ancient civilisations who understood that the vibrations from instruments as well as the human voice can have soothing and healing effects on the body, mind and soul.

Reported benefits of sound healing include -

Deep relaxation

Reduced stress

What happens during a session?

You will discuss your needs and intentions before the session and Ruth will plan accordingly. On the day Ruth will start with breathwork and meditation to ground you and help you relax into the environment. You will then lie down on a therapy bed (or the floor if you prefer!). Once you are warm and comfortable, Ruth will use singing bowls, drumming, chimes and other instruments as well her own voice. The vibrations and sounds encourage deep relaxation and altered states of consciousness. It can also create energetic shifts in the body, bringing you back into balance.

If you struggle to relax and switch your brain off, sound healing can be really effective.

Ruth & I love our time at Pathways Adult Day Service in West Lothian.

Pathways provides a valuable support service for adults with learning disabilities & we are lucky enough to visit every week to do Sound Healing & Reiki.

Today we played around with force & amplitude to the delight of our yogis. We took turns to play the drum and there were giggles & smiles but most of all, pure joy!

Wee Ones Yoga - Fridays at 3.30pm

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Son & not only am I a yoga teacher but I’m also a Mum, Auntie & Great Auntie to some awesome little people (& a few older ones too)!

Before training as a yoga teacher I was a Primary School teacher for many years, specialising in early years & additional support needs. I adore working with all ages of children but the smallest one always bring me so much joy as they are so eager to learn.

Our children’s yoga classes combine key elements of yoga, with music, stories & games to bring mindful living to the next generation. I feel privileged & fortunate to use my years of teaching experience to translate this magical world of yoga into a language that our small people can understand.

The Dalai Lama once said, “If every 8 year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation.”
