Happy New year to everyone all the best for 2025. Will let you all know when our office resumes at lanthorn library again, no firm date yet.

05/12/2024

Just to let you all know that our volunteer office in Torridon House has finished and is closed to visitors for the foreseeable future until we return to our offrice in Lanthorn Library.

As usual we were given very short notice to pack up and despite have a few volunteers to help finish packing today for removals tomorrow Friday. I was informed late Monday evening that in fact the removers were coming today Thursday to take all our crates away. So thanks to all who volunteered to help but it ended up too short notice to get busy people turn up to help. Apart from the fact that with all the filled and empty crates for us and Library staff, we could not have swung a cat!

We have not been given a date for our entry back to Lanthorn as yet, although the Library is said to be due to open on January 13th (with any Luck as it's a Monday). We are working with Managers to see when we can access our Office space to measure up and then find out when crates might be delivered and where to start unpacking again. Again we do not have a huge space for multiple unpackers in the old office so we will play it by ear.

Until then we still have our Volunteers at our Linlithgow site in the Local History Library on a Tuesday and Friday as usual and they will be pleased tyo see anyone who cares to visit. They finish fort Christmas holidays on 17th December and reopen on 7th January 2025. Lanthorn we hope to be open by 31th January all going well.

In the meantime we will still have our members meetings at Crofthead Community Centre, Tremplar Rise, Dedridge EH54 6DG at 7.30pm. We have no meeting in January so first meeting back will be on Tuesday 4th February 2025 when we have Geoff Baillie from Falkirk History Society speaking to us about Canals.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
