Leona & Joanna were at a wet and muddy Livingston Parkrun today for Leona’s 100th parkrun. Not sure we enjoyed the run through the mud and puddles but we did enjoy the post parkrun breakfast at the bowling club!

We were invited to The REGEN Room based at Bannatynes gym in Livingston to try out their new therapies which may benefit some of our patients. Leona went today and had a session of red light therapy followed by an hour of hyperbaric oxygen therapy which was combined with vielight neuro gamma. Here’s a bit of information about all three but more info can be found on their website.

Red Light Therapy (RLT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. Benefits include relief from chronic pain, accelerated wound healing, and reduced inflammation,

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) delivers more oxygen to your cells to give:

* Enhanced recovery from exercise, injuries, and fatigue
* Reduced inflammation to help ease aches and pains
* Increased energy levels by supporting cellular metabolism
* Better circulation and detoxification for a revitalised body

Vielight Neuro Gamma involves wearing a headset which delivers pulses of light to stimulate and nourish brain cells — supporting focus, memory, and mental energy.

Leona was running the Kelpies half marathon today and finished in 2 hours and 1 minute. 6 mins off the PB. Aim was under 2 hours so nearly there. Not bad for a 51 year old who only took up a bit more ‘serious’ running 18 months ago!
