The CYP Diploma is now being delivered fully online, making it accessible regardless of location and much easier to commit to alongside work and other responsibilities.

The course will run as:
• 5 weekends (one per month)
• Delivered live via Zoom
• September 2026 – January 2027
Dates:
Weekend 1 – 12th & 13th September
Weekend 2 – 10th & 11th October
Weekend 3 – 14th & 15th November
Weekend 4 – 12th & 13th December
Weekend 5 – 16th & 17th January

The course is a postgraduate level SQA customised award, developed in collaboration with S.M.I.L.E., and recognised by professional bodies such as COSCA.

This format allows you to:
• join from anywhere (no travel required)
• spread the learning over manageable monthly weekends
• complete the course alongside existing commitments
Cost: £1,700, However, we are running an introductory price of £1,200 to anyone who decides to join this cohort.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, S.M.I.L.E. is proud to support the theme of Action by highlighting the mental health support we provide for children, young people and families across West Lothian.

Every day, we see how important it is for young people to feel heard, supported and understood. Mental health affects how we think, feel and cope — and early support can make a meaningful difference.

This year’s theme reminds us that small actions matter. Checking in, listening without judgement, asking for help, and creating safe spaces for conversations are all powerful steps towards better mental wellbeing.

We’re also supporting Wear it Green Day as a visible way to raise awareness, show solidarity and help reduce stigma around mental health.
