ISM Psychological Services has launched a bold new preventative course, The 50k Pint, to combat the rising dangers and long-term costs of drink and drug driving across Scotland.
With research showing that the financial, legal, and personal consequences of impaired driving can exceed £50,000, The 50k Pint puts the true cost into stark perspective — and offers a solution before it’s too late.
Many drivers underestimate how even one drink or a night of partying can affect their ability to drive — hours or even days later. We developed this course to inform, not punish — to empower people to make safer choices.
The 50k Pint includes:
Expert-led sessions from qualified psychologists
Real-life case studies of drink/drug driving consequences
Practical strategies to reduce risk and stay legal
Optional workshops for schools, communities, and workplaces.
The course is available both in-person and online formats, and is suitable for:
- Young and new drivers
- Employers with staff operating vehicles
- Community education and early intervention programs
The initiative is already gaining support from local road safety advocates, schools, and employers looking to educate teams on the often-overlooked risks of impairment behind the wheel.
