Too often we can get stuck in our over thinking conscious mind, riddled with worry, doubts, fears and inner dialogue that can criticise and damage our inner beauty. But we can learn to break free from the negatives, embrace our higher self and live connected to our inner truths. When we live connected to, and embracing our thoughts, feelings and emotions, we begin to live more fully and deeply. We can make a choice, to live with feelings of love, happiness, joy and contentment, or feelings of pain, guilt or resentment. Positive Affirmation Monday!

This is a wonderful Affirmation to breathe and repeat, whether you know your own the right path for you or not! It's definitely one to help you feel more connected to yourself, confident in your decisions.

If you are unsure of your next steps for you, or feeling stuck or even a little unenthused - why not take a little time to to reflect on the things you really enjoy in life, things that help you feel "more like you" and all the things that help your heart feel lighter. With an estimated 70,000 thoughts a day - it really is impossible to ‘stop thinking’, ‘clear your mind’ or ‘empty all thoughts’.

But we can learn to observe and notice thoughts, and let them move on, without getting dragged down the rabbit hole of what ifs, might happens, should have happened.....

If you feel that you are the kind of person that get’s stuck on a thought, which then spirals into so many more that just feel overwhelming, a quick tool is simply deep breathing.

But instead of focusing on your inhale and gulping in a breath, focus on your exhale.
Engage in deep, slow exhales to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and promote relaxation in your mind and body.

You can do this at home or work, for free, in minutes, as a simple step to help yourself in moments of need.

Let's face it, feeling overwhelmed, is never nice. But it is unavoidable at times.

And you may feel like the stress in your life is out of your control, but you can always control the way you respond. And managing stress is all about taking charge:

taking charge of your thoughts
your emotions
your schedule
your environment
and the way you deal with problems.

Managing stress involves changing the stressful situation when you can, changing your reaction when you can’t, learning to act on those early warning signs of overwhelm and of course, making your wellbeing one of your top priorities too.

So if you're feeling overwhelmed, ask what is the most important thing you can do today, that supports your wellbeing and lightens the load a little? Only you will know.
