Gentle Hatha yoga offers so much more than physical movement.

It supports mobility and joint health, helps improve balance and posture, and gently builds strength in a calm, mindful way. It can soothe the nervous system, reduce stress and tension, support better sleep, and encourage a deeper connection between breath and body.

Hatha yoga also creates space to slow down and check in, helping you move with awareness and intention rather than rushing or forcing. It’s about how you feel, not how it looks.

Mindfulness doesn’t have to mean sitting still for hours or finding the “perfect” moment.

It can be woven into everyday life a pause between tasks, a conscious breath at your desk, a moment of awareness while walking or eating.

These small moments add up.
They help calm the nervous system, bring clarity, and create a little more space in busy days.

Bringing yoga into schools offers so many benefits for children and young people.

School-based yoga can support emotional regulation, improve focus and concentration, encourage calm, and give pupils practical tools to manage big feelings and everyday pressures. It also creates space for movement, mindfulness, and connection in a way that feels inclusive and accessible for all abilities.

I’ve had the pleasure of delivering yoga sessions in many schools across South Wales, working with individual year groups or whole schools. Sessions are always tailored to the school’s needs whether that’s supporting wellbeing weeks, mindfulness initiatives, emotional literacy, or themed learning.

Yoga in schools is about creating calm, supportive moments within the school day that children can carry with them beyond the hall 🤍

What yoga looks like here is rooted in practising with truth, also know in yoga as satya.

That means being honest with where you are each time you step onto the mat.
Some days your body feels open and energised.
Other days it feels tired, heavy, or in need of rest.

In my classes, there’s space for all of that.
You’re encouraged to listen, to pause, to choose what feels right without judgement or pressure.

Practising with satya is about meeting yourself truthfully, kindly, and exactly as you are.
That’s where the real practice lives 🤍

My teaching style is gentle, mindful, and very laid back.

I weave mindfulness throughout the class, encouraging you to move with awareness and breathe with intention. All of my classes are gentle, with a focus on increasing range of movement through carefully chosen asanas that support mobility and ease.

There’s no pushing, no forcing, and no expectations. I always want you to tell me if something doesn’t feel right or if you’re not comfortable your body knows best.

All of my classes are accessible and SEN-friendly. I’m a huge believer that yoga is for everyone, and I want my classes to feel like a safe, supportive space for all bodies and all minds. Please don’t be afraid to come along you’ll always be met with kindness and understanding.

I’m also really proud to have recently written an article for SEN Magazine on the benefits of yoga for SEN, something I’m deeply passionate about.

Hi, if you’re new here, welcome!

Last year my yoga business has gone through a little rebrand. You might have known me previously as Little Tree Yoga, but as life shifted and I closed my studio for family reasons and reduced my classes, it felt like the right time for a fresh chapter. And so… Yoga with Jodie was reborn 🌿

I’ve been teaching for 8 years and am a qualified Hatha yoga, children’s yoga, teen yoga, mother & baby, postnatal and mindfulness teacher. Over the years I’ve had the absolute joy of practising with over 2000 children and teens. I still offer children’s and teen yoga privately (just not on a regular weekly timetable at the moment), working with groups such as Brownies, Cubs, Beavers, Scouts, Girl Guides, schools, libraries and more.

I currently teach a gentle Hatha yoga class in Llandaff North, Cardiff, on Mondays during term time, and hold family yoga pop up classes throughout the year and I also offer private classes for wellbeing, workplaces, schools and small groups.

Alongside teaching, I’m also an author. My yoga books include From Mat to Magic and the When Yoga Saved the Day children’s book series, as well as several mindfulness reads too. You can find those over on my author page 👉 📚

My teaching style is very chilled, very relaxed, and always about meeting people exactly where they are on their yoga journey. I’m genuinely so honoured when someone chooses to practice with me 🤍
