As I am sure you know, Sports Massage has been shown to have beneficial effects in preparing for sport, assisting in recovery as well as enhancing sports performance itself. Sports Massage can also be used to help with day-to-day stress and muscle tension and so I would also welcome clients who are not from a sporting background. Along with Sports Massage I can also provide Medical Acupuncture and Electro-Medical Acupuncture. Medical Acupuncture can aid in the treatment of a range of problems:
- Acute or Chronic injuries
- Headaches
- Neck and back pain
- Muscle spasm
- Muscle strains
- Tennis or Golfer’s elbow
- TMJ Dysfunction

Common medical conditions that Electro-Medical Acupuncture has been used to treat:

- Relief of acute and chronic pain
- Musculoskeletal pain
- Tendinopathies
- Post-operative pain
- Low back pain
- Arthritis
- Fibromyalgia

Other improvement from Electro-Medical Acupuncture useful in musculoskeletal conditions:
- Acceleration of tissue repair by increasing circulation
- Increase in blood flow
- Increased muscle control and strengthening
- Reduction in muscle spasticity

Qualifications:

- MSc Sports Rehabilitation.
- BSc(Hons) Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage.
- SPS Diploma in Sports Massage
- OMT Medical Acupuncture/Dry Needling
- OMT Advanced Medical Acupuncture
- Sports Trauma Management (Lubas Medical)
- Immediate Care in Rugby Course WRU (Level 3)

- Full Sliver member of the Sports Massage Association (SMA)
- Full member of the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRAT)

Ruth Morgan BSc MSc MSMA GSR set up her own business a few years ago in Talley called SRM Sports Rehabilitation & Massage, which specialises in sports massage and injury rehabilitation treatment. Ruth now also takes appointments at Sports Centres on both Carmarthen and Lampeter University of Wales Trinity Saint David campuses.
