Based in beautiful mid-Wales near 📍 Rhayader, Kim Clegg brings a uniquely holistic perspective to saddle fitting – combining hands-on expertise with a deep understanding of movement, posture, and performance.

Covering Mid to South Powys, Shropshire, and Herefordshire, Kim has been a qualified McTimoney Animal Chiropractor for 8 years and is part of the tutoring team delivering the Master’s degree in this specialist field. Two years ago, Kim decided to add saddle fitting to her toolkit, earning her Stage 3 and 4 Advanced Saddle Fitting Awards from the International Academy of Saddle Fitters.

Introduced to 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲’s ♾️ by clients and later mentored by co-founder Sara Udal, Kim was immediately drawn to the brand’s biomechanically sympathetic approach. Having become increasingly disheartened by the limitations of traditional saddle design, she found that these saddles align beautifully with her chiropractic philosophy — supporting healthy backs, encouraging natural movement, and avoiding unnecessary restriction from the tack.

After attending multiple training days and learning the 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 ♾️ method first-hand, Kim now works as part of our growing distributor network, helping horses and riders find balance and comfort without compromise. 🫶

“I love how the horses really seem to process the feel of the saddle when you give them time,” she says. “The changes can be instant — not just in movement, but in how the riders feel too. I’ve even noticed I no longer get hip or back pain when riding in one myself.”

𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴? 🏇

‘Dynamic posture’ has become a bit of a buzzword in saddle fitting — but what does it actually mean, and why is it so important? 🧐

In simple terms, dynamic posture refers to how your horse carries themselves in motion, as opposed to their static posture when standing still on the yard. It's an essential factor in saddle fitting, because after all — nobody buys a saddle just to stand still!

Dynamic posture looks at functional, biomechanically correct movement.
♾️ How does the horse carry themselves as they move?
♾️ Is the movement free and flowing, or stilted and tight?
♾️ Are they lifting and engaging their back, or bracing and hollowing?
♾️ Are they moving in a balanced, uphill posture, or dropping onto the forehand?
♾️ Is their movement symmetrical?

A horse’s shape and posture can change dramatically from standing still to moving, and the shape of a dynamic back will typically be flatter — more lifted and wider — than when the horse is at rest. For many reasons, a saddle that ‘fits’ beautifully while the horse is standing quietly in the yard might not fit properly once the horse is in motion and carrying a rider.

Pixie definitely seemed to be enjoying his rib release! At one point his nose was on the floor and I wondered if he needed a break to have a proper kip!

His owner has a few things to work on following his treatment then back in a month to check in on the problem areas we found.
