The Aurora was absolutely awe-inspiring last night. I could see it from my back garden, but decided to drive up into the hills at bedtime. I turned to walk back to the car past midnight as I was getting chilly and at that same moment it all intensified. The magenta and green were so clearly visible to my naked eye - although not as intense as the camera has picked up. Needless to say I stayed longer!

It occurred to me as I watched that these are classic heart chakra healing colours, reminding me of watermelon tourmaline. Is our troubled Earth getting a cosmic, and much needed love-bombing from our star?

It's World Mental Health Day which is a good time to release some of the stigma and shame that still exists around mental health issues. There plenty of things that support good mental health and build resilience when we prioritise our self-care. These are some of my favourites, but there are lots more! Happy Chinese New Year! 2024 is the Year of the Dragon; the Wood Dragon to be precise. I've spent a happy few hours setting up a dragon altar and choosing my crystals. Chinese New Year celebrations last from today until 24th February. The Chinese Wood element is New Yang, which means it will be full of vitality and growth, so this promises to be a particularly energetic Dragon year!

Walking around the house I was surprised how many dragons I could find, and all of them have memories and stories attached! They range from an earring from my student days, a rice bowl I bought on a trip to New York when I was 20, a Feng Shui dragon I treated myself to when I worked in a New Age shop, a beautiful metal box left to my son from his Great, Great Auntie and a carved calcite dragon gifted by one of my students.

Why not scoop up the dragons you have around your home and choose some suitable crystals to make an altar as I have? Mine are only suggestions - anything that says 'dragon energy' to you could be suitable, especially crystals in this year's lucky colours of golden yellow, rich red and emerald green.

Enrolment is now open for the 2024 Full Moon Circle with Lauren D'Silva. This is a women's circle with a focus on crystals and the Goddess. The intention is to lead you deeper into yourself, expanding your understanding of who you are and helping you to explore your untapped potential. Our Circle is held online via Zoom so you can join wherever you live.
