When a family takes the time to leave words like these, it truly means the world to us 🤍

We recently received a beautiful review from a family who entrusted us with the care of their dad. They spoke about the support they received from that very first Saturday phone call, the guidance through each step, and the compassion shown not only to them – but to their young son too.

In the most difficult moments, it’s the small things that matter: taking time, explaining gently, listening properly, and making sure every member of the family feels seen and supported.

Thank you for placing your trust in Tristan and the whole team. It is always a privilege to walk alongside families at such an important time, and we never take that responsibility lightly.

If you ever need advice, reassurance, or simply someone to talk things through with, we are here 24 hours a day. 🤍

There’s something incredibly special about old photographs.

While looking through family albums recently for Peter, we came across a wonderful old image of Colwyn Bay Crematorium.

The crematorium looks both familiar and beautifully different. And what really caught our eye - the line of vintage cars in the foreground. Polished bonnets, rounded edges, a glimpse into another era. You can almost imagine the quiet dignity of the day, the slow procession, the sense of community that would have gathered there.

So much has changed over the decades: the vehicles, the fashions, the technology, yet some things remain exactly the same. Families still come together. Stories are still shared. Lives are still honoured with care and respect.

It was a lovely reminder that while time moves on, the heart of what we do, and the places that hold so many memories, remain constant.

If you have old photographs of local landmarks or funeral processions from years gone by, we’d genuinely love to see them. These glimpses into the past help tell the story of our community. 🤍

This afternoon we attended the reopening of the Llandudno Colonnade, following a period of restoration.

After a presentation at The Imperial Hotel of the work undertaken, we witnessed the ribbon cutting, spoke to Adrian at the Home Front museum and Philip and Mary at Llandudno Museum and enjoyed an ice cream from Parisellas and it was great to see this heritage site looking so much better and safeguarded for the future thanks to grants.

Remembering Peter Owen on what would have been his 97th birthday 🤍

Today, we pause to mark the 97th birthday of Peter Jessop Owen, a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a familiar face to so many here in Llandudno.

Although Peter is no longer with us, his presence is still felt in the stories shared, the memories held, and the lives he touched over nearly a century. From his years serving families with quiet dedication, to the warmth and character that earned him the affectionate nickname “Pete the Box,” he leaves behind a legacy of care, humour and steadfast commitment.

Birthdays can feel different after loss - tender, reflective, sometimes bittersweet. Today, we choose to celebrate a life well lived and a man deeply loved.

If you would like to read more about Peter’s remarkable life and the impact he had on our community, you can find his story on our blog.

Some mornings are simply about being together 🤍

On Thursday 19th March 2026, we’ll be holding our Bereavement Coffee Morning at Providero Tea & Coffee House - Llandudno between 10am and 12 noon.

Grief can feel isolating, especially once the cards have stopped arriving and life seems to carry on around you. Our coffee mornings are a gentle space to pause and sit with others who understand, to share if you want to, or simply to enjoy a warm drink in kind company.

There’s no agenda, no pressure, and no expectation. You don’t have to have used our services to come along - everyone is welcome.

Whether you feel like talking, listening, or just being in a room where you don’t have to explain how you’re feeling, we would love to see you there.

If you know someone who might benefit, please do share this with them 🤍

This afternoon we had the pleasure of playing the 9-hole golf course on the Great Orme Great Orme Golf for the first time since becoming founding members supporting its revival.

What a place it is. The sun was shining, the views were spectacular, and it was fantastic to see this historic course being brought back to life.

A huge well done to Robin and Tanya for the ambition, passion and sheer determination they are putting into restoring the course to its best. Projects like this take real belief, and it’s wonderful to see the progress already being made.

We’re proud to play a small part in supporting something so special on our doorstep and look forward to watching the course continue to flourish.

Spring has sprung at Tom Owen and Son 🌼🌼🪻

There’s a real sense that the seasons are turning outside our premises this week. Our flower pots are looking lovely, with bright yellow daffodils now in full bloom, bringing a welcome splash of colour and a reminder that spring is well and truly on its way.

We’re now looking forward to the next wave of colour as the heather, lavender and hydrangeas begin to grow and (hopefully!) burst into life over the coming weeks.

A big thank you to James and his green fingers for looking after the pots and helping keep everything looking so welcoming for the families who visit us. 🌱

Remembering Peter Jessop Owen (1929–2026)

On Wednesday 18th February 2026, we said farewell to Peter Jessop Owen - known to many as “Pete the Box”. He arrived at Holy Trinity Church, Llandudno in fitting style in a black horse-drawn carriage complete with red plumes.

For someone who spent a his life serving families in Llandudno through Tom Owen and Son, Peter had thoughtfully planned every detail of his own farewell. Bright colours (mostly red which was his favourite colour) were worn, hymns and readings along with their designated reader were chosen by Peter himself, and afterwards family and friends gathered to raise a toast in his memory at Maesdu Golf Club.

It was a service full of warmth, character and quiet dignity just like the man himself.

Thank you to everyone who joined the family to honour a life that meant so much to so many in our community.

Donations in Peter’s memory were made to the RNLI Llandudno Branch, reflecting his lifelong connection to the sea.

“I don’t know how you do your job.”

Often, what people are really recognising is the care shown in the small, quiet moments — from the first visit at home, to time spent with families in our funeral home, to standing beside them at the crematorium.

This review means so much to us, because it reflects exactly why we do what we do.

Thank you for trusting Tristan and the team during such a difficult time. 🤍
