September is World Alzheimer's Month - a month to really stop and think about this awful disease that effects so many peoples lives. In a hope to spread some awareness, we asked the wonderful Debbie at Mojo Crafts to do an art piece depicting the Forget Me Not flower, a symbol of memory, solidarity, and support for those affected by the condition. The ladies did a beautiful job, thank you Debbie 💙💙💙

We never underestimate the joy that animals bring to the residents - that's why we are so privileged to have a regular visitor to Moorcroft. The cutest little girl Chica 🐶.

On this visit she was very much in the mood for kissing- much to the delight of our ladies!!! They didn't want her to leave!

We had a very special visitor to Moorcroft this week - the much awaited Sparkles.

She was so well behaved and brought so much pleasure to our residents. There are many animal lovers amongst us, so it was just so lovely to see all the happy faces. We already look forward to the next visit. Thank you to Laura for your patience and professional service.

🌼We've only gone and done it!!!🌼

We are immensely proud to announce that we have been given the highest award possible in our category of The 2025 Llandudno in Bloom Awards. We got the GOLD STAR!!! 🌸🌟🌸

We believe that, as well as a beautiful home, our residents should have the pleasure of having a fabulous garden to enjoy. Many walk around freely, enjoying the numerous seating areas. And they are proud that, when they have visitors, they can sit and enjoy a beautiful vibrant garden, and appreciate the fruits of our labour with their loved ones.

Big thank you to our long standing gardener, and to Jayne and Rita, who all work hard to keep the standards this high. 🙏

Today we had another birthday to celebrate - it was Margaret's 86th birthday!!

She had a lovely lunch out with her daughters and a drive to see an old friend. And she finished the day off with her friends at Moorcroft.

The ladies had their exercise fix mid week this week - and they did amazingly!!!

Tor brought the usual fun side to this session, and tried a few different props this week, which went down well.

The ladies really do look forward to her visits, it's a social event in addition to all the benefits of keeping moving 🏋‍♀️💓

The entertainment didnt stop at Moorcroft just because it was the weekend 😊!

We had a returning visit from Arthur and his fabulous daughter Mia this Saturday- this wonderful pair always delight our residents. It's safe to say that, at 8 years old, Mia is going to be amazing just like her dad. Mia asked us to donate to Ty Gobaith for her time, we are more than glad to do that!

🎂🎁 We had a very special birthday to celebrate this week - our Mair is 70!!!!!

And as this week is 'International Afternoon Tea week', we thought what better way for her to celebrate with the residents, than to have afternoon tea together.

Mair and the ladies enjoyed freshly prepared sandwiches, scones with jam & clotted cream, Victoria sandwich and of course, washed down with Prosecco 😁🥂.

Making use of our beautiful flowers in the garden, we thought we would try something new with the residents. Flower pressing!!!
We harvested a colourful collection from the garden and the ladies arranged them just how they wanted - we will later use them for a follow-on craft session!!
Following this, Rita did a quick fire quiz out on the patio in the fresh air. A lovely afternoon was had!!

💙What a fabulous afternoon we had on Wednesday - we were honoured to host the Sing With Us Tenovus Choir.💙
As always, they were fabulous and the residents were singing (and dancing) along. The choirists equally enjoy spending time with our ladies, and consuming too many cakes afterwards ☺️. We do think we need a bigger conservatory!!
Tenovus is a very special charity that brings treatment, emotional support and advice for those suffering with cancer, and for those who care for people with cancer. We will be doing something at Moorcroft later in the year to help raise much needed funds.
We will also welcome them back at Christmas time, we will look forward to that 💙.....
