What lady doesnt like a bit of shopping??

When it just gets too much effort to go out to the shop, we shall simply bring the shop to them!! The ladies really enjoyed having a good rummage through the racks of clothes, handbags and underwear, lots of new items were purchased!! For some, they just loved watching and enjoying the social side. These are the times when our huge conservatory does its thing!!

Here we are at the end of another week - and what a lovely week we have had!!

Our girls have kept the residents busy each day, and we have had a visit from the fabulous Sinfonia Orchestra.

Another truly special afternoon was when the Year 2 children and teachers from Ysgol Craig y Don popped over to dance for us.

The school has been given funding to promote dance and they have helped the children learn a beautiful contemporary piece, that they were delighted to show us.

It was so heartwarming to see how beautifully the very young, and very old interacted with eachother. It really was a truly happy afternoon, and we are very excited to have them back next term.

Big thank you to the teachers and volunteers at Ysgol Craig y Don for their efforts bringing such a big group over. The children did you proud and you made so many people happy 😊!

🎻🎼 Monday afternoons' entertainment was something very new and special. 🎼🎻

We had the absolute honour of experiencing a performance from the very talent young people from Sinfonia Cymru.

Sinfonia Cymru are an orchestra of young professional musicians from Wales and around the world, that perform in the heart of Welsh communities.

Our residents were moved to tears by some of the pieces they shared with us, and we were delighted to enjoy their renditions of 'Swan Lake' and 'Ar hyd y nos'.

One of our residents, Eirlys, used to play the harp as a young woman and was delighted to have a little go. The memories flooded back, a beautiful and emotional moment to witness.

We can't thank Sinfonia Cymru and their young performers enough for a unforgettable experience.

🎉 Today we celebrated Rita's 92nd Birthday 🎉

She had a lovely lunch with her friends and was presented with the most enormous cake, kindly provided by her family.

She put a lovely dress on and was very excited to be going out for the afternoon with family.

The perfect day!!

Todays post is about two young ladies, Kate and Evie.

They are students at Coleg Llandrillo, studying Level 3 Health and Social care, and have been attending Moorcroft on placement days for this last academic year.

This week is their last week, and it's safe to say, they have been a wonderful addition to our team. We are confident in knowing they have learnt invaluable skills with us, in how to care for the elderly with patience, dignity and compassion. We are confident that this experience has given them a truly great foundation as they begin their journey in the Health/Care sector, and to recognise how life in a Care Home should be!!!
Kate has since gone on to be a Health Care Assistant with us, and has become a valuable member of the team!!

Thank you girls, and good luck for your final year from us all💓💓

🦎🐍🕷To tie in with the milestone 100th birthday of Sir Attenborough, we invited the fabulous Scaly Safari to Moorcroft.

As was expected, it was the most wonderful experience for our residents, and as always, the professionalism of the company was second to none. The variety of creatures was fabulous, and we are in awe of the bravery of each of our ladies. Would you hold a tarantula?

All in all, a fabulous afternoon was had by all!!

Today, we marked the 100th birthday of the Legend, Sir David Attenborough.

This gentlemen has worked tirelessly throughout his life to bring us a wealth of information about our beloved Planet. You will all agree, there will never be anyone like him again.

Many of our residents have fond memories of the young man who arrived on their TV screens, with his calming voice and a certain way of sharing his knowledge with them.

Sir David, we thank you for everything 🙏

🌤🌥 Whilst the days are definitely getting longer, it's still not quite Summer yet. But that doesn't stop our staff taking the residents out whenever possible. They are wrapped up warm, then off they go to the park, and often the promenade. And if they want a treat, like an icecream or cake, then the girls always oblige 😊. Thank you to Mair, Dilys and Andrea for spoiling our ladies this week!!
