Yoga Carmarthenshire

Yoga Carmarthenshire Hi I’m Steph, a qualified Vinyasa Yoga teacher registered with yoga alliance. It’s a great fun workout that can provide many health benefits.

What makes Vinyasa yoga different is that by connecting your body’s movement with the breath, it creates a flow from one pose to the next. The class can often feel dynamic and fast paced, but working to your individual strengths and abilities a sense of flow is maintained. As it’s a dynamic class it is not suitable for anyone who has had a child recently or is currently pregnant. However once your body has recovered it can be an ideal way to regain your pelvic floor, strengthen your body and create calm. Please contact me prior to the class to discuss any health issues or concerns.

In addition to the Vinyasa yoga class this wednesday 7.30pm I am also running a restorative yoga class this Friday at 5.30pm at Llandybie public memorial hall. Vinyasa yoga includes a fast paced elements of the class to provide cardiovascular benefits, while improving strength, balance and flexibility. The main focus within the practice is to create a connection between the breath and your body's movement which in turn creates a sense of calm, decreasing stress and anxiety. Ideal for those who want to try an alternative fitness regime or find it difficult to relax in a slower paced class.
The Restorative class on Friday removes the cardiovascular element from the practice with a focus on creating a sense of stillness. The restorative class is ideal for those who find cardio distracting and is run at a slower pace.
The classes are £5 or £16 for a block of 4 classes, visit www.yogacarmarthenshire.co.uk to book via paypal. and remember to bring your yoga mat with you. If you have any questions drop me a message or contact me on 07791524935. Thanks

With the relentless wet weather and cold viruses being spread, I thought it may be an opportunity to incorporate a few kriyas into this Fridays class. Kriyas can help cleanse and balance the body, hopefully give you a bit of defence against the viruses or just help you recover. The class will retain a Vinyasa flow and provide a great workout but with a theme of "creating balance". The class is held at 5.30 Friday in the smaller community hall within the Llandybie public Memorial Hall, the class is £5 and bring your yoga mat. If you have any questions drop me a message or call on 07791524935. Thanks

Vinyasa yoga is a fusion of Astanga and Astanga Vinyasa yoga that applies the Ujjayi breathe and bandhas throughout the practice. The Ujjayi breathe helps to achieve focus, increase your body temperature and take you further into the stretch. The bandhas help to create energy, strength and protection through the poses. As this can be a challenge at first I've added a youtube link by David Swenson which can help you familiarise yourself with the breathe and bandhas. It can be a helpful to watch the clip then take a moment to practice the Ujjayi breathe and bandhas without the complications of a pose. It is tricky so don't be discouraged if you struggle at first, over time it becomes easier. So have a go.
