Yesterday we were working at St David’s churchyard Llanarthney, installing a new headstone. The location is exceptionally picturesque, and we were fortunate to have such pleasant weather.

Today, we have begun reinstalling some of the unsafe headstones that failed the recent memorial safety inspection carried out by the church authorities at Felinfoel Churchyard.

Alongside an accredited stainless steel ground anchor, each headstone requires additional stainless steel dowels, which are installed by drilling from beneath the base into the stone. Unless the headstone was originally supplied by us, we have no way of knowing what dowels were used previously. Over the years, we have come across lead wire, nails, and even a pencil.

This week, we have installed a bespoke memorial crafted from exquisite highly polished ruby red granite, which features two matching hand carved and polished black granite horse statues. This unique design has been tailored precisely to our client’s specifications, it has been a pleasure to work with him and bring his vision to life.

Today, we safely removed a 300kg granite coverslab to facilitate further burial. Successfully done by using our portable heavy lifting gantry crane. This enables us to handle very large memorials safely and without injury. We offer renovation services on extremely large traditional headstones, making them safe and bringing them up to date with current health & safety requirements. We also specialise in returning memorials back to their original splendour through careful cleaning and restoration.
