Ty Bryngwyn Llanelli Hospice A Designated Centre of Excellence for Palliative Care

The hospice is home to a day care centre, which offers physiotherapy, reflexology and other therapeutic activities to people suffering from illnesses ranging from cancer to Parkinson's two days a week. As well as the patients who are still able to live at home, the team of health care support workers, Macmillan nurses, social workers and physiotherapists also care for up to eight inpatients at the hospice at a time.

Many thanks to Liam who is raising funds for TBH. This is the reason why.

I'm continuing my fundraising for Ty Bryngwyn Llanelli Hospice in memory of Craig Haynes and in 6 weeks time, I will be taking on Copenhagen Half Marathon and in just under 9 weeks Cardiff Half Marathon.
I'm raising for Ty Bryngwyn Llanelli Hospice as they are a local hospice that gave amazing care and support to Craig and his family from the time of his diagnosis.
Whilst I have already reached my initial target of ยฃ1000, I would like to raise as much as I can for this great cause.
Any donations, big or small, would mean a lot. You can donate using the link below:

Congratulations to the Chairman of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Fundraising Committee and Trustee Mr David Craddock, who was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship Award on Wednesday evening.

This prestigious award given by Rotary Clubs to recognise individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their communities or to Rotary ideals and acknowledges exceptional service and dedication to the principles of Rotary.

I am sure we all wish David many congratulations on this well-deserved Award.

Had the great honour last night to confer, on behalf of Llanelli Rotary Club, the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship on local businessman and dedicated supporter of our town, David Craddock.
David received the Fellowship in recognition of his passionate commitment to the Llanelli community. A successful local businessman for over 40 years, he also served as Chair of Llanelli Town AFC, the Reds, from 2013 to 2017 โ€” a period of great success, including winning the Welsh League Division One. He now serves as the clubโ€™s President.
He is a tireless advocate for Llanelli, a key figure in the Chamber of Trade, and last year was honoured with a major community award by Llanelli Town Council.
David also plays a vital role as Trustee and Chair of the Ty Bryngwyn Hospice committee, supporting its essential work.
A former Rotaractor and past member of our club, we hope to one day welcome David back into the Rotary fold.
A Paul Harris Fellowship (PHF) Award is the highest honour that Rotary can bestow on an individual.
Named after Paul Harris, founder of Rotary in 1905 in Chicago, the award is available to Rota***ns and non-Rota***ns, who demonstrate the high professional and personal standards exemplified by Paul Harris.
The award is given by The Rotary Foundation, in recognition of substantial and exemplary community service, in support of Rotary ideals.

Day's Fleet is proud to have successfully raised ยฃ4,500 for Ty Bryngwyn Hospice during various activities throughout 2024. Some of their staff recently visited the Hospice to see the wonderful work carried out there and where the money raised would be spent.

The Charity was nominated by Day's Fleet staff and the funds were raised throughout 2024 as part of their commitment to supporting local charitable causes. Through multiple fundraising activities, including auctions held with the generous support of suppliers, bake sales and ongoing team-led initiatives, the collective effort saw this significant sum of money being raised for Ty Bryngwyn. These funds will help the Hospice continue delivering high quality palliative care ensuring that patients receive the comfort, dignity and support they deserve.

Mr Aled Williams, Managing Director of Day's Fleet said how proud they were to have given this support and thanked his amazing team and all those involved for making this fundraising effort such a success adding how it inspiring it was seeing everyone come together for such an important cause.

Mr David Craddock, Trustee and Chairman of the Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Trust Fundraising Committee thanked Day's Fleet for their incredible generosity and support adding that donations like this are essential in allowing the continuation of this valuable work and ensuring that specialist care is provided to those in need whether in the inpatient unit or out in the community. Knowing that businesses and individuals in the local area are willing to rally around and give their support makes a huge difference.

Liam Thorley in raising funds for Ty Bryngwyn Hospice. This is his story.

In November 2024, I lost my best friend, Craig Haynes, to cancer. Throughout the last months of his life, he and his family were heavily supported by Ty Bryngwyn Hospice.

Throughout 2025, I am running Manchester Marathon, Endure 24 Reading, Copenhagen Half Marathon and Cardiff Half Marathon and I'd like to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful organisation to help support the wonderful work that they do.

Any donations that can be given would be really appreciated

DONATION IN MEMORY OF DAVID MCKENNY

On 2 April 2025 in the garden of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice the family of David McKenny presented a cheque for ยฃ1,075 to the Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Fundraising Committee.

The family wished to express their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care and kindness shown to their loved one during his final week before he passed away in January 2025 and were deeply appreciative of the support and kindness provided by the medical staff during this very difficult time.

Grateful thanks were extended for this very generous donation given on what would have been Mr McKenny's 75th birthday and were assured by the Committee that it would be used wisely and well for the sole benefit of the Hospice.
