Another wonderful week at Llwynhendy Care Home, and what a busy one it has been.

Our residents enjoyed arts and crafts, music therapy, an energising exercise class, and some very imaginative games featuring balloons and fly swatters. A lively game of basketball brought out everyone’s competitive spirit, and our fabulous entertainers kept the smiles coming. We even topped it all off with a cheeky trip to the local pub.

We never do things by halves here at Llwynhendy. Our home is unique, and we are incredibly lucky to have a fantastic Lifestyles Team working alongside residents who always bring brilliant ideas for fun!

Here is to more joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories next week. 💜✨

🍂 Autumn Fun at Llwynhendy Care Home! 🍁

The season of cosy jumpers, colourful leaves, and pumpkin spice is here — and our residents have been embracing all things autumn! 🎃✨

Over the past week, everyone’s enjoyed getting creative with autumn arts and crafts, pumpkin carving, and even a bit of seasonal flower arranging. 🌻 From beautiful table displays to cheerful pumpkins and handmade decorations, our home is now filled with the colours and scents of fall.

It’s been wonderful to see so many smiles, laughter, and a few artistic surprises along the way! ❤️

Here’s to a season full of warmth, creativity, and community. 🍁

🌼 Shwmae Su’mae Day – Dydd Shwmae Su’mae! 🌼

Today at Llwynhendy Care Home, we’re celebrating the joy of the Welsh language! 🏴💬

Our residents and team have been greeting each other with a cheerful “Shwmae!” and “Su’mae!” all day — spreading smiles, laughter, and a little bit of Cymraeg spirit throughout the home. 💖

We’ve enjoyed some lovely Welsh music, a few rounds of Welsh cakes 🍰, and plenty of friendly conversations celebrating our culture and language.

Whether you’re fluent or just learning, today’s the perfect reminder that every “Shwmae” starts a connection. 💬✨

The family of our much-loved resident Marion Richards have asked us to share details of their funeral service.

Following the service, everyone is warmly invited back to Llwynhendy Care Home for nibbles and a tipple, in celebration of a life so dearly cherished.
Our thoughts and love are with the family at this time. 💜

🌟 Llwynhendy Care Home x Felinfoel RFC – Celebrating 150 Years! 🌟

We are so proud to be linking up with Felinfoel Rugby Club this season as they celebrate an incredible 150 years of rugby! 🏉🎉

Yesterday we were honoured to welcome some of the club’s young players, who squeezed in a visit between their busy day at a rugby festival and flag bearing for the Scarlets. Our residents and staff loved meeting them – thank you for bringing such wonderful energy (and for enjoying a few of our burgers and hotdogs too! 🍔🌭).

As many of our residents and families have strong ties to the club, we’re delighted to be helping raise funds towards special 150th anniversary windbreakers for the players. Llwynhendy Care Home will be taking part in some exciting sponsored events over the coming weeks – so please keep an eye out and support us where you can.

Together, let’s celebrate this fantastic milestone for Felinfoel RFC! ❤️💛

🎉🐾 We may have been a little quiet on social media lately, but things have been wonderfully busy here at home!
Today we had the joy of celebrating a very special milestone – Marion’s 101st Birthday! 🎂✨
Marion was one of our very first residents at Llwynhendy and has since become our beloved Resident Ambassador, always looking out for others, speaking up on their behalf, and making sure everyone is having a good time. 💖
And how better to mark 101 years than with a 101 Dalmatians–themed party? 🐶🎈

🌴 Bringing the Beach to the Care Home! 🏖️
Sand between our toes, the warmth of the sun, the smell of salt water—and of course, plenty of ice cream! 🍦☀️

Today was a real sensory treat for our residents. From the sound of crashing waves to the (slightly too realistic!) cries of pesky seagulls, we recreated the full seaside experience—without leaving home. 🐚🌊🕶️

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special. It was smiles all around! 💙
