You visit, you sit and have a chat and a cup of tea. But did you check their feet?

From my experience, many older people don’t want to feel like a burden on their family or friends. They can feel embarrassed and will often keep their feet covered with slippers when visitors come.

I often receive phone calls from family members who say,
“I saw their feet for the first time and I was shocked.”

Please remember to gently remind older people that there is nothing to be ashamed of. Asking for help—whether the job feels big or small—is a sign of care, not weakness.

I'm back in work on Wednesday 7th January as we are currently away in Northumberland. We've been exploring this beautiful part of the country and doing lots of walking, Hadrians Wall, High Force Waterfall, Derwent Resevoir, Lambley Viaduct to name a few. I've been really impressed with my Sketchers Walking Boots, they are quite roomy so I can wear my thick socks and are really comfortable. My feet don't feel like they've walked over 35 miles at all, so if you're looking for a new pair of walking boots I can recommend them.

A huge "Thank You" to all my wonderful clients for your patience and support over these last few weeks. I know I've had to rearrange lots of appointments but hopefully I've caught up with most of you. If you are still waiting for an appointment please send me a message and I'll endeavour to see you as soon as I can. Also I really appreciate all my thoughtful Christmas gifts, you're all very kind. My last working day is 23rd December and then I'm taking a break until the 7th January. 👣

Today, I've had three last minute cancellations. I understand that unforeseen circumstances and illnesses may occur and can interfere with your appointment time. However due to high
demand in people waiting for an appointment I
ask that when possible, you provide more than 24 hours notice if you wish to reschedule your appointment.
Cancelling a few hours before your prearranged appointment does not give me enough time to fill that appointment slot. As a small business owner it's difficult to take a hit of three missed appointments, especially when these appointments could have been filled with people on my waiting list. I've not implemented my cancellation policy as yet, but unfortunately I'm going to have to start charging for last minute cancellations.
