📢 Santa Stroll 2025!

Our annual charity walk takes place two weeks today Sunday 7th Dec at 1.30pm in Llangefni. Wear your Santa hat and come join us for a lovely relaxed walk through Nant Y Pandy. Everyone will receive a lovely, edible, Santa medal for taking part and you're all invited to join me for free hot drinks and mince pies afterwards in the church hall.

To register simply email the word SANTA to physiomon@gmail.com and I'll send you all the I do and registration form.

It costs £10 to take part (£5 for children) ALL profits are being donated to Bangor Samaritans ❤️

Thanks to Sweet Snowdonia for making our medals and EKG Photography UK for providing the photography. Now all we need is the sun to shine! 🧑‍🎄

Got back pain?

Here's our quick top tip guide for getting you through it 👇

1. Try to keep moving. Movement is the best thing for back pain, when it's really acute you may need to rest but try to limit it to no more than a day or two.

2. The vast majority of back pain is caused by the working parts of the back - muscles, joints, ligaments, and NOT due to something serious.

3. If sleeping is difficult lie on the painfree/less painful side and place a pillow lengthways between your legs.

4. Lots of people resist taking any medication as they don't want to do something to make it worse. Whilst we wouldn't advocating taking tablets if you don't need to, when you're in pain you move differently. What you need to do to get better is keep moving and if you're in too much pain to do that then you need some pain relief - start with some simple over the counter medications like anti-inflammatories if you can take them and always check with your pharmacist or health professional if you're unsure. (Paracetamol isn't usually effective for back pain)

5. One of the simplest but most effective exercises in the early stages is lying on your back with knees bent up and feet on the floor/bed. Rock your knees gently from side to side as far as you can.

6. Ask for help. If it's not getting better on it's own don't struggle on, the right assessment and advice quickly can have you on the right track again quickly and stop things escalating. Remember though that even without professional help most cases of back pain will naturally get better in time by themselves.

I was asked about this at the roadshow yesterday and I'm currently treating a family member with it too - it's a very common problem we see a lot and it can be really difficult to live with.

BUT there's lots we can do too 👇🦶 have you experienced it?

I've got loads of cakes left over from yesterday's roadshow, still in packaging showing ingredients list, anyone know anywhere I could donate them to locally? Needs to be in Llangefni or can be collected by arrangement from the clinic.

Would prefer them to brighten someone's day rather than expand my waisteline 😉 diolch!

Edit: thanks all, cakes delivered to Canolfan Glanhwfa ☺️

Physio Môn

The clinic was established in May 2017 and is based just outside Llangefni, a convenient central location from anywhere on Anglesey. Our physiotherapy clinic offers a wide variety of treatment techniques including manual therapy, acupuncture, soft tissue massage, ultrasound and tailored exercise plans for you to take away with you. We offer flexible appointments including Saturday’s and evenings and have a team of highly qualified Chartered Physiotherapists, each with over 10 years experience, ready to help you get back on track.

Making sure that you understand what’s causing your problem and what you can do to help yourself is very important to us, we believe that we are not doing our job properly unless you no longer need us! We can help you with all of your aches, pains, injuries, and post operative rehabilitation. In addition we now have hand rehabilitation clinics and pre and post pregnancy rehabilitation clinics. All of our team also work in the NHS meaning we know all the local orthopaedic team and post operative guidelines. Three out of four of our physiotherapists also work in the specialised spine clinic, assessing and treating highly complex spinal conditions.

As a clinic we are committed to promoting and improving health and fitness in the community which is why we set up Môn Walkers - our fun, free and friendly community walking group, over 150 people have been out with us so far since Spring 2018 on fun and friendly walks across stunning Anglesey promoting Walking for Health! Join our group page @mônwalkers to keep up to date with news on this.
