MENINGITIS
Understandably we are getting queries about the Meningitis outbreak in Kent, including patients requesting to have the Meningitis B Vaccination.
In Wales the Men B vaccine is routinely offered to babies at 8 weeks of age, 12 weeks of age and 12-13 months of age. This was introduced in 2015.
At the moment there is no NHS vaccination process for children or adults outside of these age groups.
More information can be found on the Public Health Wales website.
Public Health Wales is the national public health agency in Wales and exists to protect and improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities for people in Wales. We are part of the NHS and report to the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Well-being and Sport in the Welsh Government.
