To all patients booked in for their Flu or COVID vaccine in Glyn Ceiriog over the coming weeks — or any of our Housebound patients:

Due to recent changes in how the Health Board is delivering the Flu & COVID vaccination programme, there may be some confusion with appointment letters.
💌 Some patients may receive a letter stating their appointment is at Llangollen.
👉 If you were booked in for Glyn Ceiriog, and the date and time match, your appointment is still at Glyn Ceiriog. You can ignore the location on the letter.
🏡 Housebound patients: We’ll be visiting you on your scheduled appointment date — Saturday 4th October, between 9am and 5pm.

We’re sorry for any confusion this may cause and appreciate your patience as we sort through these changes.

Flu & Covid Vaccinations - Winter 2025

Letters will be sent out over the next week inviting eligible patients to attend a vaccination clinic at the health centre.

There have been Wales-wide changes to how we run our Winter vaccinations programme this year. Please be assured that we will be running our clinics as usual and patients will receive invitations very soon. We are aiming to get the vast majority of eligible patients immunised by the end of October.

We will be closed on Wednesday 17th September 2025 between the hours of 1pm and 5pm for staff training.
If you have a life threatening emergency during this time please call 999.

Flu Vaccinations for Children – 2025/26

Flu is caused by a virus and spreads easily. While anyone can catch it, children are the most likely to get flu. For some children, flu can be serious and may lead to complications such as bronchitis, pneumonia, or ear infections.

Having the flu vaccine not only protects your child, but also helps stop flu spreading to more vulnerable people, such as babies, grandparents, or those with long-term health conditions.

The flu vaccine for children is quick and painless. It’s given as a simple nasal spray so, in most cases, no needles are needed.

Who can have the free flu vaccine in 2025/26?

All children aged two or three on 31 August 2025

Children aged six months or older who have a long-term health condition that increases their risk from flu

For school aged children, the school nurse will offer the flu vaccine during the school day. If your child misses this session, you can still arrange a vaccine through your GP.
