Manual Lymphatic Drainage for pre and post surgery is designed to reduce post-operative swelling and accelerate healing by stimulating lymphatic circulation in surgical areas, supporting your body’s natural recovery process.

MLD is a very gentle, rhythmic technique which reduces pain, swelling, & inflammation which in turn reduces fibrosis, improving wound healing & scarring.

It is recommended to have 2 or 3 lymphatic drainage massages prior to your surgery. Post surgery it is recommended to start MLD 3 to 7 days after surgery depending on the procedure. The first 2 post-op treatments should be scheduled roughly 3 days apart, thereafter weekly, again depending on your procedure.

No oil is needed for this gentle technique helping to treat a variety procedures such as knee & hip replacements, c-sections, tummy tucks, liposuction, breast augmentation, mastectomies to name but a few.

Had a great day learning a new treatment technique to be able to promote good recovery from surgery. More information to come about the benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Now I need to get an early night ready for my last busy day of work before my holiday.
