Do you want to know what the equine world’s biggest WELFARE concern is and has been for decades?

The complete and utter misunderstanding around P3 rotation and pe*******on.

Science has been getting P3 rotation and pe*******on completely back to front all because of bogus research - and equines are losing their lives because of it.

P3 doesn’t sink through the capsule to pe*****te the sole - it never EVER has!

P3 cannot sink or rotate of its own accord… it’s the hoof capsule that has been consistently removed in front of the apex of the frog until P3 becomes exposed.

And it doesn’t take much removal when you’ve rotated P3 by leaving the heels too high.

Horses have been routinely pts for P3 rotation and pe*******on blamed on laminitis - failure of the LAM (lamellar attachment mechanism) - when it wasn’t anything to do with poor P3, it was a hoof capsule problem, caused by…

… the HUMAN!

That is HUGE!

Humans taking far too much toe… too much wall… too much sole… leaving too much heel… rotating P3… exposing P3.

Many owners are beginning to realize this as we teach them how to read X-rays and understand the hoof capsule.

If your hoof care professional is removing toe you’d better stop them!

Your horse is at risk of P3 rotation and pe*******on not because of anything you have done as an owner, but because of the ignorance of your hoof care professional.

The human, their rasp and nippers, and complete misunderstanding of the hoof capsule, is what caused P3 rotation and pe*******on.

If your horse has P3 rotation and pe*******on - YOUR hoof care professional caused it - and your vet doesn’t even know it - they think it’s your fault… and all along it was theirs.

Wake up world. WAKE UP. Respect the horse’s natural constants!

No more shoes officer!

On Wednesday last week, seven horses spooked and four threw their riders in central London. What then transpired is a complete nightmare. Running full pelt through the city, utterly terrified for their lives. Two were hit by vehicles, including a double-decker bus and a taxi.

Pictures and videos of horses, one completely covered in its own blood, flooded the internet and sparked outrage.

One of the reasons these horses were so scared, is that they couldn’t slow down easily. On the slick tarmac road, with smooth metal shoes on their feet, they couldn’t get any grip and friction between them and thr ground was lost. If they had been barefoot or booted, this would not have been the case.

Two of the horses remain in critical condition and have been operated on… it is yet to be seen if they will survive.

This is a fight we’ve been talking about for years. Whether you agree that horses should be used by police and armed forces in cities or not, we should at least be able to agree that rubber boots or bare hooves on tarmac would be so much better for their safety and health.

Like the inspiring Nashville Mounted Police (pictured), who spoke to us in Issue 25 about why shoes weren’t working for them anymore.

Find out why a mounted police force decided to DITCH the metal shoes on all their working horses...

And go BAREFOOT and BOOTED on the beat.

It’s basics physics.

The armed forces and police should be putting the welfare of their animals before their customary and traditional needs.

Working horses really can go barefoot!

Update: the two horses are no longer in critical condition but remain in hospital. Hopefully they will make a full recovery but it is unlikely they will return to work.

Having to start my business page from scratch 9 years after setting out is awful 😖. Sadly my personal and business page were hacked and subsequently disabled by Facebook. I have not been able to make contact with a human to get it sorted as both the hacking and the disabling of the account are two separate issues.

So I have come to terms with the fact I have lost every picture and video , every post and comment my lovely followers would have written , the lot .

I would very much be obliged if you ever liked our page to start with if you could like and share it again with anyone you think would like us or benefit. 🙏🏻❤️.

It takes an awful lot of time and effort to plug social media business pages so I will continue to give it my best effort 💪.

Thank you everyone 💓 it really means a lot xx

Barefoot Horse Hooves Can Move 50% More than Shod Hooves

Recent Swedish research presented the final results of a study comparing shod horses hooves and barefoot hooves. The study, entitled "Unshod Sports Horses - for Durability and Performance," showed that barefoot hooves can move up to 50% more than hooves that are shod with traditional horseshoes.

The research also highlighted other significant findings, including increased hoof expansion, enhanced hoof contraction during roll-over, and improved range of motion in barefoot hooves. The study's lead scientist, Lars Roepstorff, emphasised the positive impact of barefoot hooves on shock absorption and overall horse health. The research suggests that going barefoot may offer performance advantages and reduce lameness and injuries in horses. Read the full article here.

Scoot Boot provides an ideal solution for horses to experience the benefits of going
barefoot while still ensuring adequate hoof protection. By using Scoot Boots, horse
owners can allow their horses to have the freedom of barefoot movement while
minimising the risks associated with traditional horseshoes. This research further supports
the notion that using Scoot Boots is a superior option for maintaining the natural health
and performance of horses' hooves.
