🦵 What Does ACL Rehab Actually Look Like?

This is an example of a structured post-ACL surgery weekly plan — designed to rebuild strength, restore confidence, and safely return athletes to the field 💪

✔️ Strength training (upper & lower body)
✔️ Off-feet conditioning to protect the knee
✔️ Gradual reintroduction to jogging & plyometrics
✔️ Built-in recovery and rest days
✔️ Constant monitoring of swelling, pain, and readiness

Every athlete is different — timelines, progressions, and exercises are individualised, but the key is having a clear plan that balances hard work with smart recovery.

If you’re coming back from ACL surgery (or want to avoid becoming the next one), having guidance matters. Rehab isn’t just about healing — it’s about returning stronger, faster, and more resilient.

Big steps today 👏 At 4 months post-ACL repair, she has passed her objective readiness testing with strong scores in strength, stability, and movement control.
Now cleared for light plyometrics and controlled pitch-based running 🏃‍♀️

Progression includes Low intensity:
• Pogos (DL & SL),
• A-skips & C-skips
• Hop & hold — forward + sidewards
• Straight-line jogging with graded increase in jogging volume to build tolerance and running capacity
• Forward & backward jogging
• Lateral shuffles

Excited for the next milestones ahead as her progress continues to build 💪

Before you switch off, here’s your Friday physio tip to finish the week feeling great:

✨ FRIDAY FIX:

Do 2 minutes of gentle hip + lower-back mobility:
• Knee hugs
• Hip circles
• Slow forward fold

⭐️ You could always use a jump resistance band for mobilising the hip joint too! If your unsure how then get in touch!

These help release tension from a busy week and set you up for a pain-free weekend. 🌿

If you’ve been ignoring a nagging ache all week… Friday is the perfect day to get it checked.
