The Gallbladder Meridian, also called the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel, is one of the 12 primary meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is associated with the gallbladder and is believed to influence decision-making, courage, digestion, the sides of the body, hips, shoulders, and head.
Pathway of the Gallbladder Meridian
The meridian begins near the outer corner of the eye, travels around the side of the head, down the neck and shoulder, along the side of the rib cage and hip, then down the outer leg to the fourth toe.
Common areas influenced by this meridian include:
Side of the head and temples
Jaw and neck
Shoulders and ribs
Hips and outer thighs
Knees and ankles
