This morning we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the wonderful PCymru team into our space, and what a truly special and insightful session it was.
They joined us to talk about neurodiversity in children, and from the moment they began, you could feel the room settle into a place of understanding, curiosity and compassion.
Conversations like these are so important especially for the families we support because they help us to see the world through a different lens. A lens that celebrates difference rather than questioning it.
The APCymru girls spoke so openly and honestly about what neurodiversity can look like in children, gently breaking down misconceptions and helping us to better understand behaviours, communication styles and emotional needs.
It wasnāt just informative it was empowering.
It reminded us that every child experiences the world in their own unique way, and that our role as parents, carers and professionals is not to change them, but to support them, understand them and meet them where they are.
There was such a warmth in the room throughout the session. Questions were welcomed, experiences were shared, and there was a real sense of connection something we always strive for at Mothers Matter.
It created a safe space for learning, reflection and growth, which is exactly what our community deserves.
For many of the parents in the room, this session offered reassurance. That feeling of āitās not just me,ā or ānow I understand my child a little moreā is so powerful. And for us as a team, it strengthens our ability to continue offering compassionate, informed support to every family who walks through our doors.
We are so grateful to the APCymru team for giving their time, their knowledge and their kindness. It really was an absolute pleasure having them with us, and we hope this is just the beginning of many more conversations like this.
Because when we understand our children better, we support them better and that changes everything.
