Juno PMHS Midlothian

Juno PMHS Midlothian Our main aim as Juno is to help mums with perinatal mental health difficulties.

18/02/2025

Unfortunately due a lack of facilitators Juno Midlothian is unable to continue. We hope to recruit new volunteers but for now anyone needing support can access the Edinburgh Juno group.
We hope to be back soon.
Thanks to everyone who have shared our posts and come along to the group.
We’d appreciate it if you can share our recruitment posts to try to get the word out, or if you’d like to volunteer please get in touch.

Are you wanting to consider volunteering opportunities in 2025? Can you spare two hours a month? Do you want to help your local community by supporting a worthwhile cause?

πŸ’œWe need your help to enable our fantastic peer support group to keep running πŸ’œ

Could you (or someone you know) become a peer supporter and help mothers struggling with mental health? All training will be provided.

Juno Midlothian currently provide perinatal peer support every week on Tuesday mornings in the Link at Loanhead, during term time. The group is supported by the Growing Families charity.

Perinatal mental Illness affects 10-20% of pregnant women and mums with babies under 1. The coronavirus pandemic has increased isolation and reduced access to help for new and expectant mothers.

We need some willing ladies to join our fabulous friendly peer supporters to facilitate the group. This involves chatting with, supporting and signposting mums who are struggling with emotional difficulties during pregnancy or following the birth of their baby. There is no expectation to facilitate every week.

The venue provide an appropriate room, baby toys and tea/coffee. All that is required is some relevant personal experience (eg pre or post natal depression/anxiety).

Please PM us if you think you can help or want to find out more.
Many thanks xx
