I am currently loving the IFS (internal family systems) way of working more and more, both with my clients and myself. And I have recently come across this channel, which I think describes it so well. Enjoy!

Welcome to Part 1 in my series: What is IFS? Internal Family Systems Therapy, Explained. In this video, I provide an introduction to IFS Therapy. I explain s...

Sorry I've been really rubbish at keeping this page up to date. 🙈 I'm still very busy working away online. I recently completed my Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems, an amazing and compassionate therapeutic system by Dick Schwartz. This wonderful cartoon by Mardou gives a flavour of how people can start to access it. ❤️

I think this study highlights something that those of us working with autistic and other neurodivergent individuals have been aware of for years. This MATTERS. ❤️

By Dan Carney. Study sheds light on both the changing perceptions of the self in autistic people and the positive aspects of an autism diagnosis

In their "Beyond Therapy Podcast", Jen, Melissa and Bridger, all EMDR therapists, help you understand all that might be involved in coming to therapy (or even deciding whether you need to). In this episode, they talk about how the body and the body are so closely connected.

Listen in to hear how the body comes to therapy and learn about the significance the body has in a session. The post Episode 7: The Body Comes to Therapy Too appeared first on Beyond Trauma Podcast.

Hello!

Welcome to McClean Professional Psychology. I am a clinical psychologist with over 24 years’ experience in providing psychological services to those who need them. I have a particular interest in working with people who feel affected or held back by traumas or difficult experiences in their past, and with those on the autism spectrum or who are otherwise neurodiverse. I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

I am trained and experienced in a wide range of therapeutic models (including EMDR, ACT and CBT) and I practice “integratively” - which means I adapt how we might work around your individual problem, needs and preferences.

Prior to Covid-19, I offered psychological therapy assessment from my offices in Lochgilphead, and diagnostic assessments for both autism/Aspergers and ADHD in Lochgilphead, Inverness and Glasgow. However, until further notice, all of these services are available online only, via secure videoconferencing platform, so location is no longer an issue!

Please note that at present, McClean Professional Psychology offers services to adults only (18+).
