It is to enable practices to have dedicated Protected Learning Time for building relationships, keeping teams updated and engaged and improving patient care.

‼️IMPORTANT NOTICE ‼️
Compulsory computer system update🖥️

NHS Dumfries and Galloway IT services are completing a compulsory computer system update in all GP practices. Our surgery is scheduled to have this essential work completed this Thursday 12th February2026 between 08:00-16:00.

We have put measures in place to ensure minimal disruption to our patients. All pre-booked appointments will go ahead as scheduled (we will print out our appointment book the night before).

Same day appointments for URGENT issues will still be available as normal (but may take a little longer to be booked as one person will be required to do this manually with the written diary). However, we won’t be able to contact you to schedule routine appointments until after 16:00 when the upgrade is complete.

During this time, we will NOT be able to:

💊 Process prescriptions (EXCEPT emergency prescriptions required during urgent same day appointments which will required to be hand written e.g. antibiotics)

📆 Make routine appointments

🕒 If you have been waiting more than 15 minutes for your appointment, please let reception know.
