The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported a rise in disinformation, misinformation, fake news, and conspiracy theories. Simultaneously, people are accessing health information online more frequently.

While we encourage patients to actively participate in their healthcare, accessing the right resources is key to preventing the promotion of harmful and dangerous practices.

In their Toolkit, WHO covers many health misinformation challenges and ways of combatting these, such as the implementation of the Patient Information Forum (PIF) Tick.
