Much like the calendar of annual celebrations, Podiatry has its own seasons too - and right now, we’re well into what I like to call “ingrown toenail season"!
After more than 20 years in practice, I’ve noticed the same pattern every autumn: as we swap sandals for waterproof trainers, wellies, and walking boots, our feet start to protest. Those sturdier shoes can put pressure on toenails, encouraging them to curve and grow into the skin. Add in tightly laced or brand-new boots, and it’s no surprise we see more painful, compressed feet at this time of year.
If you’re dealing with an ingrown toenail, please don’t suffer through it - there’s so much Podiatrists can do to help. In most cases, I can treat and relieve the pain straight away by gently trimming the nail and draining any infection. And if needed, we can perform a quick, painless nail procedure right here in our Hackney clinic to stop the problem from coming back.
Between myself and my associate Conn, we offer appointments throughout the week - including weekends - so it’s easy to find a time that works for you.
👣 Book your appointment today, and let’s get you comfortable again before the colder months set in.
