👶 When will I hear from the Health Visiting Team?

If you live in Worcestershire and have a child under 5, you’ll be offered 5 key contacts with your local Health Visiting Team:

📅 28+ weeks pregnant – Antenatal Contact
👶 By 14 days old – New Birth Visit
🤱🏼 6–8 weeks old – Postnatal Visit
🧸 9–12 months old – Review
👧 2½ years old – Development Review

These reviews support your child’s health, wellbeing, and development at key stages. Look out for your appointment letters in the post and speak to your Health Visitor if you have any questions.

⭐ NEW WALK & TALKS ⭐

We’re excited to be launching some brand new Walk & Talk sessions this month.

📍 Worcester Woods Country Park, WR5 2LG
⏰ 10am

The new Walk & Talks are being held on Monday 21st and Monday 28th July, and will be led by our new volunteers Alessandra and Jordan.

They will be at the usual meeting point, by the entrance to the Orchard Cafe at 10am. We’d love to see you there!

🌟 Thinking about starting solids? Here’s what you need to know! 🌟

Introducing your baby to solid foods—also known as weaning—should start around 6 months old. At this stage, your baby needs more than just breast milk or infant formula to grow well and develop new skills like chewing.

👶 How do you know your baby is ready?
Look for these signs (usually all three together):
✔️ They can stay in a sitting position and hold their head steady
✔️ They can coordinate eyes, hands, and mouth to pick up food and put it in their mouth
✔️ They can swallow food rather than spit it back out

🥄 First foods can include:
• Smooth vegetable purées (like carrot, broccoli or sweet potato)
• Soft mashed foods or soft finger foods
• Iron-rich foods like lentils or puréed meat

Volunteers are an essential part of the MNVP. They help us to hear from a wider range of voices and experiences. There are lots of different ways you can be involved, from sharing your own views to going out into communities to hear from other families.

DM us or email Rebecca.schofield10@nhs.net to book a place on our next "Introduction to the MNVP" session for potential volunteers. These sessions run online. They are free and there is no commitment to volunteer if you decide it's not for you after all.

Upcoming dates:
⭐Tuesday 15th July: 8pm – 9pm
⭐Friday 19th September: 10am – 11am

Additional training is provided if you would like to volunteer in a role that involves listening to feedback from families. You must attend an introduction session first.
