Most noses have a dominant feature that causes the most concern. The job of your rhinoplasty surgeon is to treat this concerning feature, but also to look out for the other, more subtle factors that affect your nasal aesthetics.
In this case, my patient had a prominent dorsal hump that she disliked. Her nasal tip was not a particular concern for her; however, the tip angle was at the lower end of the normal range, and so reducing the dorsal hump alone might have resulted in an overly elongated appearance.
Removal of the dorsal hump was therefore combined with very subtle upward rotation of the tip - just enough to keep the vertical length of the nose proportionate with her other features.
