From Damascus to London. From hope to honour.
On Friday night, at the Aesthetic Medicine Awards, my team and I were engulfed with joy, disbelief, and a deep sense of fulfilment as we were honoured with not one, but three incredible awards:
Best Clinic in London, Aesthetic Surgeon of the Year, and ultimately, Best Clinic in the UK—selected among the finest aesthetic clinics across our beautiful United Kingdom.
This outcome, on one hand, validates the wisdom of hard work, sincerity, honesty, and service—values my team and I strive to embody every single day.
But as I stood on that stage, I couldn’t help but reflect on a younger version of myself: a fourth-year medical student newly arrived from Damascus, facing a seemingly unbridgeable 90/10 gap between himself and his accomplished peers. Determined to learn, to contribute, and to grow, I joined the NHS to gain from the wisdom of those heroes I admired so deeply.
This journey has witnessed sweat, tears, blood, and countless sleepless nights—on the wards, in emergency rooms, at study desks and airports around the world—each moment a building block in the vision to create a 361-degree, evidence-based centre of excellence devoted to care and service.
None of this would have been possible without the impossible task of balancing patients, team, and family. To my incredible patients, my devoted team, and my loving family: thank you for your trust, your faith, and your unwavering support.
These awards sharpen our commitment to serve our community and patients at the highest standard, and to work with our partners across this wonderful industry to raise the bar for care in our profession.
I also hope this moment sends a message to millions of young people who feel trapped by war, hardship, or limited access to education and healthcare: you are not alone. Collaboration, compassion, care, and peace are our only hope for a better, more beautiful future.
With deep gratitude,
My love and best wishes to you all.
