Yesterday I saw a practising surgeon who has flown from Alberta for the lens replacement consultation (and to see his friends) and will be flying back for his surgery shortly. It was interesting have a consultation with one surgeon to another about his visual requirements and how this will work with him returning to work. It helps that I’ve got these lenses in my own eyes and can give him the first hand experience.

Today we said goodbye to Stephen “Bolt” Morgan. He’s been amazing. Last week he completed his 1000th cataract and he’s an ST4. Sky is the limit. Proud to have played a small part in your journey to the stars.

Just did her dad’s cataract operation - it’s an honour when the staff choose you to operate on their family. Having planned to watch she ducked out just as the operation began 👀😂

Proud to be an invited speaker at the Zeiss user meeting in Budapest Hungary. I’ve gained insights, made new friends and colleagues, and I’ve gained a new family at Zeiss. Thanks again to Yeana, Charlie, Anna-Marie all who made me feel welcome and party of the team. Jun-Suk- we missed you.

Blue Fin Vision is attracting patients from far and wide - all leave with a smile, champagne and without their conjunctival naevj. We have had Aberdeen, Cumbria and Taiwan all in the last 4 days.

When you’ve had a Naevus for 20 years and flown from Aberdeen to get rid of it- it’s a good feeling when you’re leaving without it.

On the 5th of May I had the privilege of being asked to present at my son’s school on being an eye surgeon. It was joy. They asked insightful questions including if anything had ever gone wrong when operating😭. I showed them videos of the surgeries - I’m reliably told it was well received - including by one of the teachers who approached me about eye surgery.
