The founder of the Wazima is a medical profession with several years of experience in UK & Africa Health & business sectors. Having also spent many years involved in various non-digital healthcare projects and solutions in the various parts of sub-Saharan Africa, she realised that people are needlessly dying because they present with their health issues so late that at the point of diag
nosis, the disease is so far progressed that their prognosis is poor. She found that the reasons given by patients for not presenting their symptoms early were often similar – lack of access, concerns about quality, lack of ready information and lack of trust in existing facilities were the most common. She started to advocate for better access to and improved quality in healthcare delivery. The realisation that digital technology could enhance and promote the ease and speed of access to quality healthcare led to the development & birth of the Wazima App for mobile devices and computers. Wazima serves Healthcare providers, making it easier to manage their schedules & patient lists, medical records, medical teams, billing thereby increasing patient access. Wazima's solution provides continuous & integrated wrap-around care for Non-Communicable Diseases (like hypertension, diabetes, cancer, asthma etc) patients with the medical ecosystem through access to rapid diagnosis, monitoring, follow-up, health records & support community. It is accessible via any internet enabled mobile device, laptop and computer. It serves Health Providers and Patients giving users direct text and video consultations access via their web enabled mobile device to online waiting rooms, testing & treatment sign-posting and a range of other valuable health boosting services and products. Placing Accessible, Timely and Affordable wrap-around care (ultimately less expensive care) within the reach of millions in Sub-saharan Africa is our principal goal.
