Introducing our Body Image Webinar Series – part of our campaign.

This August and September, we're hosting a series of free online webinars exploring the complex relationships we hold with our bodies - led by one of our Psychotherapists, Sophie Killip.

From unpacking where body image struggles begin, to exploring how we move beyond shame and towards self-compassion, these sessions are open to anyone: whether you're in recovery, supporting someone, or simply want to deepen your understanding.

Free to attend – click here to view our events: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/orri-specialist-eating-disorder-treatment-23404316375

✨ Let’s build a summer where no one feels like their body is a problem to fix.

“Relapses are going to happen. We know that with any major changes that we go through in life, it's never going to be an upwards trajectory all the time.” – Sophie Killip, Psychotherapist at Orri

In eating disorder recovery, setbacks can feel scary - but they’re not failures. They’re part of the process.

In this video, Sophie speaks to the reality of relapse: how it can show up, what it means (and doesn’t mean), and why it’s so important to meet these moments with self-compassion, not shame. Hold curiosity and compassion over criticism.

Recovery isn’t linear. What matters is how we support ourselves - and each other - to keep going.

Disordered eating is more common and more misunderstood than many realise.

In this carousel, we’re breaking down some of the most persistent myths that continue to create stigma, shame, and silence around food and body struggles.

Whether it’s the idea that someone has to “look” a certain way to be unwell, or that it’s just a phase - these myths can stop people from reaching out for help, and from being taken seriously when they do.

Swipe through to challenge the misconceptions and make space for compassion, nuance, and real understanding.

You don't need an ED diagnosis to need help and support. Recovery looks different for everyone - but support starts with the truth.

To the fathers who show up - today, we celebrate you.

Eating disorder recovery is a journey that affects the whole family. And while it can be difficult to know what to say or how to help, the act of simply being there can mean everything.

Today we want to thank the dads, stepdads, grandads, father figures - and those walking alongside someone in recovery - for your presence, patience, and support.

To honour this day, we’re sharing a powerful blog post written by the father of one of our clients. It’s an honest reflection on what it means to support a loved one with an eating disorder.

It’s Carers Week and we want to say thank you.

To the parents, partners, siblings, friends, and loved ones who show up, sit beside, speak up, and stay - your care matters more than words can say.

🧠 Eating disorder recovery doesn’t happen in isolation.

It’s supported by the quiet acts of compassion, the patient listening, the shared tears, the gentle encouragement - and yes, sometimes the difficult conversations.

We know how emotionally demanding caring for someone with an eating disorder can be. That’s why, at Orri, we work not only with our clients, but with their carers too, to offer support, understanding, and tools for navigating this journey together.

This Carers Week, we’re recognising your strength. Your vulnerability. Your impact.

Because you are a vital part of the recovery story.

🧡 Thank you.

Eating disorders don’t discriminate - but support systems often do.

This Pride Month, we’re raising awareness of the disproportionate impact eating disorders have on the LGBTQIA+ community - and why inclusive, affirming care matters.

✨ LGBTQIA+ people are twice as likely to experience an eating disorder.
✨ Trans individuals face even higher risks, often due to body dysphoria and identity-based trauma.
✨ Many report feeling unseen or unsafe in treatment settings.

At Orri, we believe eating disorder recovery must include every part of who you are - your identity, your story, your truth.

You deserve support that doesn’t just accept you, but affirms you.

💛 You are seen. You are worthy. You are not alone.

As we start June our theme centres around hope - the hope that recovery is always possible, no matter how overwhelming an eating disorder may seem. For many clients, there may be moments when they feel like recovery is out of reach, but at Orri, we firmly believe in our mantra ‘recovery for all’.

This week’s Motivational Monday reminder: “Recovery is not a straight line. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a sign of hope.”

Save this post for when you need it and tag someone who might need to hear it today. 💜

This Pride Month, we celebrate love, identity, and the strength it takes to live as your authentic self. 🌈

At Orri, we know that LGBTQIA+ individuals face unique challenges when it comes to mental health and eating disorders - and we stand with you, every step of the way.

You deserve to feel seen, supported, and safe in your recovery.

💛 You are valid. You are worthy. You are not alone.

In this month’s Nurturing Hope webinar (Wednesday 28th May - 18:00 - 19:00), we’re revisiting the recovery journey and exploring what readiness for change looks like - especially after stepping away from structured support.

Recovery is rarely linear, and change doesn’t always shout. Sometimes, it’s a quiet shift, a small decision, or a moment of pause.

Whether you're feeling steady, uncertain, or somewhere in between, this is a space to:
💛 Reflect on your journey
💛 Recognise change in all its forms
💛 Reconnect with your inner resilience

🧠✨ Mental Health Awareness Week is an important reminder that eating disorders are mental illnesses NOT choices or lifestyle phases.

Anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any mental health condition, yet stigma and misinformation still prevent people from getting the support they need.

We’re breaking down common myths and sharing the facts to open up the conversation and replace shame with understanding. Because when we replace misinformation with compassion, we make space for real healing. 💜

Swipe through, share, and help shift the narrative.

Story of Orri

Orri’s specialist day treatment model follows a “Stepped Approach”; providing individuals with the opportunity to address all different parts of themselves and their everyday lives when in recovery from an eating disorder.

Rather than remove people from their everyday lives and communities, our aim is to keep people in their careers and education whilst they progress in recovery – working collaboratively and flexibly with carers, schools and colleges for sustained recovery.

For treatment enquiries, please visit our website and fill in an enquiry form, email askorri@orri-uk.com or call 0203 918 6430.
