Honestly there is SO much I could write about neurodiversity so here’s my hot take on ADHD as a woman in business in her 30s who was late diagnosed, and runs a business.
Having ADHD is not a curse, and my theory is that the planet is probably far more neurodiverse than we think, but society created a neurotypical construct that we need to exist in order to survive.
When you spend 30 years on the planet being told you are “ too sensitive, quiet, chatty, excitable, not focused enough, too focused and DEEPLY sensitive- as well as being a genius in some subjects and zero clue about others- it’s important to understand it!
And seeing as it’s neurodivergent celebration week here’s some things I love most about it and encourage you to start celebrating too👇
❤️🔥 We love deeply and fiercely, if your one of my people- I am loyal to the bone and there is nothing I won’t support you in
❤️🔥We don’t do small talk- we hate it in fact- I won’t ask you about the weather I’ll want to know what weather you like and how it makes you feel and honestly I love that
❤️🔥Our creativity is unmatched- have you seen the good doctor? My brain does a similar thing to “ Dr Sean” and I can see peoples problems, solutions and next steps before they have even finished their sentence- it makes me an exceptional coach and strategist and I will bring you the energy of a red bull & lucozade put together lol
❤️🔥Our social justice dial is high- we aren’t “passive” or neutral, we care deeply, believe deeply and will wholeheartedly stand up for what we believe in
❤️🔥We are the life and soul of activities we love and can bring life to every situation- endless energy is really a thing when I ovulate 🤪
❤️🔥And we are super sensitive, RSD is NOT fun-but I refuse to believe it is a bad thing and think the world would be a better place if we all cared more and considered how our actions and words impact others
❤️🔥As for feeling deeply? The most healthy emotional response to the human experience and a beautiful thing, don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.
I’d love to know what you are celebrating about your neurodiversity today👇🧡
