Private 1:1 Feldenkrais Functional Integration classes are taught from Rosamond’s home, which is a boat permanently moored between Tower Bridge and Bermondsey. Lessons cost £70 or £55 low wage and take an hour on average. Unfortunately the boat is not wheelchair accessible, and it is not advised to visit if you get sea sick... the Thames is tidal! If this excludes you, Rosamond is part of a community of other excellent teachers with whom she is happy to put you in touch.

About Rosamond
Rosamond has taught a combination of training and movement practices for over 10 years. She has a unique combination of skills and knowledge which she draws on to teach her students how to investigate and understand more about their own bodies, paying attention to detail and provoking curiosity. With a wide ranging field of experience, she teaches practices that support training and benefit all bodies. She is a qualified Pilates and Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement® and Functional Integration® teacher.
Along side Pilates and Feldenkrais, Rosamond teaches circus conditioning, including flexibility, handstand and aerial conditioning. She teaches how to train and helps students better understand their own bodies.
Rosamond also works as a performer, director and choreographer in theatre, dance and circus productions. She integrates Feldenkrais, awareness and sustainable training practices into rehearsal and performance processes, to refine the creative process, foster embodied curiosity and support the well being of the creative team.
Class Descriptions
Functional Integration® 1:1s
These classes are completely responsive to your needs. They are gentle and profound. They work directly with your nervous system in a similar way to the Awareness Through Movement classes, but in this case with the specific detail of guiding hands. They increase mobility and stability by reducing your systematic habits of inefficient holding and tension, and teaching your nervous sysytem new possibilities for easy, pleasurable and efficient movement.
Perfect if you are dealing with pain or discomfort or a specific training challenge, or if you want to improve your physical self-organisation and efficiency in any area, from sitting, sleeping and walking to dancing, playing an instrument or a sport or carrying a baby.
Creative Training and Intelligent Stretching
This class will combine familiar elements from other Pilates, yoga, flexibility and conditioning classes, into a creative session that trains the body whilst simultaneously encouraging an adaptable, mindful practice. We will challenge the notion that training must be linear or repetitive and give your body a break from the limiting habits and movement patterns you form in the gym, on the yoga mat or sat at the desk. You will sweat, strengthen and stretch in varied and sophisticated ways.
Awareness Through Movement® lessons
Everything we do is physical, even thinking. We don't leave the body behind when we're sitting in a chair at a desk or in a meeting. Developing your physical awareness in movement can help you live more comfortably and efficiently as you let go of the habitual physical patterns which no longer serve you. Whether you want to improve your posture, deepen your yoga practice, sleep better, improve in playing an instrument or sport, or sit at work more comfortably, Feldenkrais can help your nervous system to stop doing those thing which you currently do, without realising, and which hold you back, make work harder or cause you pain or discomfort.
Lessons consist of gentle movements carried out in sitting, standing or, most commonly, lying. The challenge is not to push yourself, not to work in pain, not to try harder, but just to observe yourself and focus your awareness. The teacher explains what to do physically and also helps guide your awareness throughout.
Workshop: Going Deeper
We begin with a gentle Awareness Through Movement lesson and develop this into a guided movement workshop to sweat, strengthen and stretch. We work the whole body through complex training to develop flexible strength and mindful flexibility.
This is perfect if you want to go a little deeper into your body work, develop awareness and find playful new approaches to training. You will discover things about yourself and your body which are transferable, which you can use to improve any other practices you have. This longer workshop format also allows more time for personal response to specific questions about your body, training, habits and limits.
This workshop is a total training and fuses all the different classes Rosamond teaches: to find out more about what it involves have a browse of what the other classes entail.
