Becoming “Naoki Nayati”.

I will explain my vision quest at a later date and it will be in my book in depth, for now the explanation of “Naoki Nayati” is of importance to me.

Skie journeyed for hours to get the names of the students she accumulated for the north.

She received “Naoki Nayati” and gifted me that during our 1-1 the following day.

She explained the visions she had to me, about how “Naoki” is of Japanese heritage, its the story of a samurai who got cleaned and washed with cherry blossom in a ceremonial way before going into battle, he only fights when it is absolutely certain that is no other outcome available.
The second half “Nayati” is of North American heritage and it means “the boy who wrestles”, that’s pretty evident as I fell involve with many forms of Martial arts including wrestling.

The story behind this can be found over the next few days on my website in the soon to be created blog section, where I will write in detail about the name, where it comes from, it’s meaning etc.

This name is something we grow into, and form a connection with, I’m going to start by changing my social media, email address, and website details.

Becoming “Naoki Nayati”.

So I set off on my shamanic journey as a young lad with severe suicidal depression, addiction problems and many other mental health problems.
(you can find this in my upcoming book “suicidal depression to shamanism and psychedelics”)

After undergoing courses with skie, she would speak about people in the “North” and the “East”, and explain this is where the real magic happens.
Once you start cleaning up your life you arrive at a place of peace and acceptance, in a flow state unlike any other when the universe always works in your favour… (for some people).

I thought this was utter Bulls*** to say the least.

She explained we got our “medicine names” in the north, and that she journeyed for hours to find them, from where I haven’t asked.

Maybe that’s something you could ask her if you felt the call to start this beautiful work?

Anyway here I am years later sat in this wonderful north energy, everything working out for me perfectly so far.

On the north, we have a “vision quest”.
This is where all were allowed is our mesa, rattle, water and sleeping bag. We have to journey to our archetypes, to spirts and gather information and retrieve things for Skie and ourselves.

Skies amazing husband and my maestro “Red” marked out a small area in this field where we stayed for a night journeying. This is when Skie goes back home and journeys for our names. While we stay out.

I am leaving “Sam Hancock” behind and starting the process of becoming “Naoki Nayati”.

It started with a shamanic vision, the quest to speak to ancestors, spirits, archetypes and to undergo an inter-continental connection to the paqos.

Where did “Naoki Nayati” come from? & How did it come to this?

For this we need to go to the start.

I have been training under Maestra , a Wisdom keeper, Story teller and Pampamesayoq for many years now.
She has been teaching me the ways of the paqos, a small group of high priests from the mountains in the andes.

Skie has trained extensively with and spent many moons working alongside the paqos, and all over the world for that matter eventually earning the right to be called “Pampamesayoq” by the paqos themselves.
This is one of the highest honours you could receive as a westerner and it shows they see you as one of their own.

Skie hands this down through the “shamanic medicine wheel” you can train with her in.

To say this has changed my life is a complete understatement and wouldn’t even do it justice.

Upon starting this I thought it was a week long course and a qualification little did I know that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Being a mesa carrier is a life long journey and daily practice, even when you think you’re out of the medicine wheel teachings that’s when you’re actually in it the most.

I have thought about giving up, quitting, and handing my mesa back many times, and personally asking skie to revoke my mesa rites so I can be a “normal” person again.

What I didn’t know when I signed up is that this isn’t a course, this is a lifestyle.
