Tips for insomniac ashtangis practising deep backbends. What do you mean “that’s too niche”??! When I started practising deeper backbends I noticed my tendency towards sleeplessness coming back to the surface. Here is what has helped:
1. Practising in the morning
2. Taking longer with the finishing poses
3. Taking a longer rest and covering the eyes
4. Incorporating some pranayama that favours the parasympathetic nervous system, like anulom-vilom or nadi shodana
5. Hot shower or bath after practice
