Paying attention may seem like an easy task, but it is frequently underestimated, and more complex than it appears. A Tomatis® auditory opening programme improves listening availability and attention. There are limitations in our body's communication mechanisms. Enhancing your auditory feedback abi...

Interesting, I actually wrote a blog about this just the other day. If you are suffering procrastination, inertia or even transition paralysis (sitting in the car rather than going into the house - this does happen to people especially with adhd and ASD) then movement and vagus nerve stimulation can help. Auditory (listening) stimulation can be effective as the vagus nerve exits in the ear canal 👂🏾 🎧 🎶

If you are crippled by procrastination, inertia or transition paralysis (it exists - think sitting in the parked car for half an hour unable to go in the house) then read my latest blog.

The vagus nerve plays a key role in regulating bodily responses and alertness. In this blog I describe how both physical activity and Tomatis® auditory stimulation with the Maestro headphones can activate alertness circuits, aiding in overcoming conditions such as procrastination, brain fog, inerti...

Your brain predicts the environment, it _doesn’t react passively_ to it. This is a multi-sensory process of sound, vision, temperature, touch, vestibular (movement) and interroception (internal sensations).

*Why does this matter when it comes to learning?*

Prediction errors are how you learn! When discrepancies are detected between what you expect and what actually occurs, your brain _should_ readjust to keep homeostasis. This is not always successful, which is why you might find it difficult to regulate and therefore get distracted.

Examples include: dislike of certain noises, limited food or texture choices, uncomfortable in certain clothing, sensitive to bright lights, intolerant of movement and motion sickness.

The Tomatis®️ method uses a Gating®️ system which gives ‘sound perception contrasts’ to keep the brain interested. *This actually trains the brain to accept differences in the environment without emotional response.*

When you complete a Tomatis®️ listening intensive you are training your brain to achieve regulation and to pay attention to learning opportunities without the distraction. Powerful stuff.

Sound matters!

We think of vision as eyesight: perceiving shapes, objects, faces and colours. Our eyes are responsible for much more than vision, including our mood and our level of alertness. The eyes are part of your central nervous system; they are part of your brain! The eye is an optical device and you can im

More client visits this weekend. The assessment process and Maestro set up is as easy as ABC:
🔠 Auditory - how well can you clap to a beat, listen out for sounds or use your eyes?
🔠 Breathing - Can you use the longest breath and the slowest heart rate or are you in a hyper-alert state most of the time?
🔠 Coordination - does your whole body move along with head, neck and eye movements? It shouldn’t! So we can fix that too for better posture, attention, focus, memory and even sports performance 🤸🏾‍♀️ or learning to drive 🛞 (I have young adult clients who need this quick fix to save 💵 💰)
