Feeling warmth, fulfillment, and gratitude this morning after reading this.

Goodbyes can be sad, but they are also one of my favourite parts of this role.

I am always left feeling inspired and empowered by my clients and their personal journeys, in awe of their growth and resilience and the transformative power of the therapeutic alliance❀️

Back to basics.

It's the week before Christmas, and the energy all round right now can feel pretty chaotic! πŸ« πŸŽ„

When life becomes overwhelming and we start to feel the pangs of anxiety, maybe you're noticing your tight chest, shallow breaths, or heavy heart as you read this, the body is signaling to us to go back to basics.

At the end of the year, we need to treat ourselves more like a house plant, and less like the Terminator going into his final battle. πŸͺ΄

Sunlight, water, food, connection, breathing more consciously in and out.

As the year comes to an end and feels like it's slipping away from us, we tend to speed up in resistance to this feeling, all while the natural world around us is continuously slowing down deeper into a restful winter.

Today I invite you to pause. Pause to feel gratitude for something small...

The smell of the fresh morning air, the warmth of the sun on your face, holding the hand gently of somebody you care for, the taste of a sweet tea πŸ™

Stargazing is a simple yet transformative practice that can brighten even the darkest winters. The act of gazing up at the twinkling stars above us is not only accessible but can also be easily integrated into your daily routine, for example in the evening after work or before going to bed, where you may feel in the winter a loss of time for leisurely activities that cultivate joy and awe.

Recent research on stargazing during the long, dark winter months has found that it can profoundly impact mental well-being. Those who took up stargazing during the winter months experienced a boost in their well-being thanks to the solace and wonder that being under the stars provides, a sense of connection, a decrease in loneliness, and a feeling of awe at the nature of a dark sky filled with constellations.

if you're struggling with seasonal affective disorders or just need a little pick-me-up, looking up at the stars may nurture your emotional well-being and help you gain a newfound appreciation for the vast dark skies of winter.

Something I have to remind myself and my clients of - is the importance of humour, lightness, and playfulness in life.

Therapeutically, it has become more popular to emphasise and cultivate positive experiences such as gratitude and savouring. However, a simple yet powerful, and usually underestimated, element of healing is the ability to embrace humour. While the science-backed benefits, from immune-boosting to emotional release, make laughter a holistic healer for both body and mind.

Laughter isn't just a burst of joy in times of sadness. In therapy, humour becomes a powerful lens when used appropriately, helping us shift perspectives and find a sense of common humanity and connection with each other when we often feel our most alone and isolated.

Shared laughter can build trust and a sense of safety, and is a testament to your own resilience, offering moments of relief and warmth where you can feel supported and held in your experiences.

Healing and joy can seamlessly intertwine.

I hope this pic can offer some of you a moment of lightness in your day like it did for me 😊🌟

Feeling Rusty, Rested, and Grateful. Ready to Dive Back In!

After a rejuvenating break, I feel inspired to be back with an even greater passion for the work I hold so dear πŸ₯°- supporting and guiding my courageous clients. Your well-being is at the forefront of my journey and I can't wait to continue walking this path of healing and self-discovery together.

Taking time to recharge has re-filled my own cup with joy, warmth, and calm...something that I feel is so valuable and sacred to a therapist's own sense of well-being🌞 Reflecting on the power of rest, I'm even more committed to helping you navigate life's ebbs and flows, through gentle self-compassion and resiliency building. All whilst celebrating your moments of growth - no matter how small they may feel! 🐣

My (virtual) door is now open and available for new clients 🌻

How are you feeling today? How have you been recently? Are you okay?

Do you reflexively answer this kind of question with an 'I'm fine'? Do you tell yourself and others that you're okay, even when it's not true? Are you powering through?

In therapy, embracing the "not okay" is like finally giving yourself permission to be human, flaws and all.❀️

With the support of a therapist, you can allow yourself the time to gently process and heal from within, rather than pushing difficult emotions down and/ or resenting yourself for feeling a certain way.

When we begin to acknowledge how we feel, we can gain clarity and wisdom that we can't access otherwise. Therapy provides us with a safe space where we can untangle the knots of our emotions and courageously acknowledge how we feel... so that we don't have to continue to be 'Ross Geller-level fine'. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Morning All πŸŒžπŸ‚πŸπŸŒ“

For many of us, September feels like the start of a new year as we shift slowly into the season of Autumn. If you're feeling reminiscent of 'Back to School', or would like to channel the transformational energy of a season shift, you may find something here on my new Resources page.

Enjoy! πŸ€“
