Snow White & The Pirate Crew Pantomime at Ashmead

What a truly enchanting and joy‑filled performance! Our talented staff, wonderful relatives, and our very own resident Lloyd took to the stage to bring Snow White & The Pirate Crew to life — and they did it with charm, humour, and plenty of sparkle.
This year’s pantomime came with an unexpected (and absolutely brilliant) twist as Lloyd stepped into the role of James Bond, adding a hilarious and unforgettable spin to the classic tale. From dramatic entrances to cheeky one‑liners, he had the whole room laughing and cheering.

Laughter echoed throughout Ashmead as residents clapped, joined in the fun, and soaked up the festive magic. The costumes were delightful, the energy infectious, and the sense of togetherness made the morning feel truly special.

A heartfelt thank you to Judy, whose hard work and dedication made this wonderful performance possible.

Festive Baking at Ashmead – Christmas Snowflake Biscuits

Our residents rolled up their sleeves and sprinkled a little Christmas magic into the kitchen today as we baked beautiful snowflake biscuits together.

From mixing the dough to decorating each biscuit with icing and sparkle, the room was filled with laughter, creativity, and the cosy scent of Christmas.

A delightful festive activity that brought joy, warmth, and plenty of sweet treats to Ashmead.

Residents’ Christmas Party at Ashmead

Our residents enjoyed a truly heart‑warming Christmas celebration surrounded by their families, fellow residents, and our wonderful staff. The room was filled with laughter, music, and festive cheer as everyone came together to share this special time of year.
We indulged in a delicious variety of festive treats — from turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwiches to fruit meringue nests, all paired beautifully with mulled wine and a Christmas cocktail. The perfect flavours for a perfect celebration.
Santa made a magical appearance, visiting each resident and handing out gifts that brought big smiles all around.

We also held our Christmas raffle, and we were delighted to see our lovely resident Joan win — a wonderful moment that added even more joy to the day.

⚽🎄 A Wonderful Visit from AFC Wimbledon Academy 🎄⚽
Ashmead was buzzing with festive excitement today as the brilliant young players from AFC Wimbledon Academy came to spend time with our residents. They filled the home with Christmas cheer — singing carols, sharing crackers and biscuits, and bringing smiles to everyone they met.

The boys spent time chatting one‑to‑one with residents, creating lovely moments of connection, and even joined in for some fun ball games that had the whole room laughing. Their kindness and energy made the visit truly special.

They also joined our residents for a cosy afternoon tea party, sharing treats, conversations, and plenty of festive warmth — a beautiful moment of generations coming together.

A heartfelt thank you to Gill, our amazing volunteer, whose support and dedication made this wonderful visit possible.

Our residents enjoyed a beautiful and uplifting Christmas service led by Priest Sarah, whose gentle words and warm presence brought comfort and joy to everyone. Our morning was touched with festive elegance as Paul filled Ashmead with the beautiful sounds of Christmas. His heartfelt singing and joyful dancing created a charming atmosphere that brought smiles to every face.

Ashmead Care Home residents enjoyed a festive shopping trip to Southside Shopping Centre! Traveling together by minibus, five of our residents had a wonderful time picking out Christmas gifts, jumpers, and special treats for their loved ones. Some came prepared with shopping lists, while others enjoyed browsing and soaking up the holiday atmosphere.

After shopping, everyone recharged with sandwiches, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate with marshmallows. It was a joyful day filled with laughter, companionship, and great memories as part of our Christmas celebrations!

We celebrated Christmas Jumper Day in the Buttercup Lounge with lots of festive fun! Residents, staff, and family members joined in wearing their favourite Christmas jumpers, and everyone voted for the best one. After all the votes were counted, our lovely resident Mollie Mansell was crowned the winner and proudly received a certificate from Ashmead!

The celebration continued with delicious refreshments, including hot chocolate topped with marshmallows. It was a joyful day full of laughter, festive spirit, and community togetherness!
