Meet Amanda, our new Pilates Instructor!

🏐 Amanda has a background in sport rehabilitation, she has experience within the private and NHS sectors. While working in orthopaedics she quickly learned how effective Pilates could be for all musculoskeletal problems and since then looked no further. She began training in Pilates and kept on going. Since then, she has developed and extensive repertoire to get people moving and feeling well.

🦴 Amanda believes that everyone should do Pilates no matter their age, ability, or fitness level.

📬 Amanda is based at our South Kensington site on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Meet Brad, our new Physiotherapist! 🦘

📚 Brad is an Australian physiotherapist who has completed a Master’s of Physiotherapy degree at Sydney University and a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science at Western Sydney University. He is highly skilled having also completed post graduate training in dry needling/acupuncture, reformer Pilates, myofascial cupping, casting, and sports rehabilitation.
Brad’s previous work experience involves working in Australian football in the NSW National Premier League with senior and youth squads. This role entailed assessment and management of on-field injuries, sports rehabilitation, injury prevention programming and facilitating players to achieve performance goals and return to peak performance following injury. He has valuable experience working in a variety of clinical settings including private musculoskeletal practices, hospitals, neurological rehabilitation, within the community and intensive care.

💉 Brad’s special clinical interests include sports related injuries, injury prevention, dry needling and rehabilitation of the knee and ankle. He has developed a passion for marathon running and enjoys treating running injuries and optimising running performance through strength and conditioning. His experience working with football teams has allowed him to treat a multitude of acute and chronic sports injuries with the soul focus of improving athletic performance and getting players back on the field as soon as possible.

🏞️ Brad is a lover of the outdoors and enjoys time at the beach, gym, playing golf and hiking/exploring. He’s also a keen runner and is training for his second marathon in Edinburgh, so you’ll find him running along the Thames and around Clapham common most days. Make sure to say hi!

Meet James, our new Physiotherapist! 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

📚James () is a registered physiotherapist from Hong Kong who obtained a BSc. (Hons) Biomedical Sciences degree from the University of Manchester and then graduated from MSc. Physiotherapy at Brunel University London. He uses a combination of hands-on manual therapy, individualised exercise programming and cognitive approaches to help clients move better, reduce their pain and optimise their performance.

⚽️ James works with clients of all ages with musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries, ranging from professional rugby players, academy footballers, English Premier League referees and ironman triathletes, to desk-workers, couch-to-5k'ers and those who are just starting their fitness journey. James played football for the Hong Kong national team whilst he also competed as a cross country, 1500m and marathon runner. With his background, he has special interests in treating shoulders and lower extremities.

🏃🏽‍♂️He specialises in acute injuries, tendon and ligament rehabilitation, return-to-sport protocols and pre/post-operation rehabilitation. He uses a holistic approach to tailor treatment plans to individual needs and specific goals.

🧠 Education and empowerment is at the heart of everything James does. His ultimate goal is to enable clients to take charge of their own health and change the way they take care of themselves. He is passionate about helping clients restore pre-injury functions and providing long-lasting results.

☕️ In his free time, you will find him enjoying a cup of coffee and hiking.

Did you know we now offer Osteopath treatments at Mayfair Health? Meet Anna our new Osteopath!

Anna is a highly experienced dynamic healthcare professional that feels strongly about an integrated multifaceted healthcare approach addressing both musculoskeletal and lifestyle factors. To achieve this, she uses active functional assessments, hands on treatments which include soft tissue release, joint mobilisation and manipulation as well as 1:1 clinical Pilates as a rehab entity. Additionally, she draws on the latest research on management and outcome measures within pain, neuropsychology and neuroscience. Anna then applies this to her treatment plans to give her patients a fully rounded healthcare experience.

Originally from Germany she completed her osteopathic training at the British School of Osteopathy in 2010 and has since worked within a variety of London’s private, sports and NHS healthcare settings. Anna specialises in spinal pain, including neck, thoracic, low back, pelvic and rib pain. She is a great believer of consistently providing exceptional healthcare by using her skills but also utilising the phenomenal knowledge of the whole team by regularly cross referring in order to achieve the best outcomes for her patients. As such she has built trusted relationships with her patients and a large variety of healthcare professionals such as GPs, spinal and neuro consultants, physiotherapists and psychotherapists.

Outside of clinical work she lectures on multimodal healthcare strategies, mainly in the field of stress and biomechanics. In her free time, she enjoys family time, running, swimming, pottery and is always up for having a philosophical chat.

We are specialists in Spinal Treatment, whether it’s persistent neck pain, or acute lower back pain.

Back pain is a complex condition and often very debilitating.
We perform a complete assessment to identify the cause of your pain, before looking to address the underlying issues. This may include mobilisation, manipulation, muscle release work, neural mobilisation and needling. This will often be combined with an exercise based approach to reduce the likelihood of recurrent injury and ensure a return to your pre injury state, if not stronger.

Meet Pilates Instructor Charlie!

Charlie qualified with Body Control Pilates to become a fully certified matwork and studio equipment teacher. Her passion and thirst of knowledge later led her to go onto train in Classical Pilates whilst working in Hong Kong.

Originally set for a career in the city, this led her to Pilates to counteract the sitting and computer based corporate environment. It soon became her passion and led to a career change!

Charlie believes in educating her clients, so they can implement small changes into their everyday life to maximise the session’s benefits. Charlie takes a dynamic and active approach when teaching while still relaxing the mind. This helps to release tension and stress in the body which is essential to bring about constructive healing and change in the body.

Charlie is very grateful to have worked alongside some of most renowned teachers and mentors in the world who have helped her grow not only as a teacher but as a person; teaching her respect and care for the body and the importance of a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.

Charlie’s greatest joy is helping her clients meet their goals whether it’s recovering from injury or getting stronger. She has gained a broad experience from working with elderly clientele to long Covid survivors, to athletes from professional golfers, footballers and rugby players.

She believes every session should be enjoyable and bring a smile to your face.

To keep us up to date in the world of nutrition, we had Nicola Marsh dietician at in to talk about what an anti inflammatory diet is, and who could benefit from it.
Our take home message; an anti inflammatory diet looks a lot like the Mediterranean diet and has many positive influences on our bodies, from heart health to helping to manage osteoarthritis symptoms.
