The Path of Balance and Harmony The Path of Balance and Harmony is a programme, a system and a collection of health generating practices.

The Path is a collection of ancient practices and principles for keeping the body and mind in healthy condition and living a life we love, healing from illness and injury and ageing well. This programme was collated by George Monkhouse LicAc MBAcC. George is a healthcare pioneer, acupuncturist and natural health expert based in London. Over the last 10 years of running two busy London clinics, feeling 60-75 patients’ pulses per week has given George a broad and in-depth insight into what gets people better quickest, most fully and for the long term, and what doesn't. In this program, we assist you in building healthy habits. We teach you self-care techniques that help you address your health concerns and create a prosperous life. The techniques collected in this programme come from ancient Chinese traditions such as qigong exercises and Daoist meditations that have been found trustworthy and effective for many generations."

Here is an overview into the 4 Pillars course, part 1 of 5 in the Qigong Full Body Conditioning course. It focuses on building solid foundations. A structure built for the long term has solid foundations, a stable structure and good flexibility.

What the Chinese have called the ‘lower dantien' we now call the core. It is our centre of gravity, the centre point that manages the motion of the physical body: our balance, stability and power. A strong, well developed core is essential for optimal athletic performance and for a healthy life. A wrestler engages their core to stop from being taken down, a show jumper engages their core to stay balanced on their jumping horse, a ballerina exercises a strong core to pirouette. Activating our lower dantien via squats, standing practice, smooth deep breathing and other exercises creates the strongest foundations for optimal physical and mental health.

Get a hold on your emotions, learn to dissipate your anxiety fast.

As well as anxiety being an emotional reaction to life circumstances, it can also be aggravated by physical causes such as coffee, ginger, spirits, chilli, deep fried foods, processed foods, energy drinks and anything that causes the stomach acids to overact and rise up the oesophagus (heart burn and acid reflux).
