Having some pain and discomfort during pregnancy is not surprising. The release of hormones weaken the ligaments and along with weight gain can result in back pain, making every day life a bit more challenging. However, there are ways to prevent that by including some exercise and stretches in your routine, minding your posture and taking care when lifting heavier things. Also, it has been proven that massage therapy is a great way to ease those problems, after you pass the first trimester and don’t have a high-risk pregnancy, but make sure you inform your doctor about your intentions to get a massage.

A prenatal massage (or pregnancy massage) has some valuable benefits, aside from being enjoyable and totally relaxing experience it can:
• Reduce anxiety and stress level
• Improve sleep
• Alleviate muscle pain
• Improve circulation
• Reduce swelling in the legs
• Boost immunity

So if you experience any of the pains or discomfort and thought massage therapy is not for the pregnant, think again and make sure you treat yourself specially during this time, because your health matters !
